New policy initiatives are driving policy change that paves the way for a future where sustainability, women empowerment and public welfare go hand in hand.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led the Yamuna Cleanliness Drive 2026, covering 28 ghats across a 22-km stretch to support river restoration, waste management,img and long-term ecological conservation through ₹1,000 crore rejuvenation projects.  In addition, the Delhi Police opened its first all-woman police station in Subzi Mandi on women's issues, which will have the job of ensuring the safety of women, investigation of crimes, counselling and outreach.

Advancing women’s economic empowerment, Bijliride launched the Women’s EV Job initiative, ‘Stree Ride’, in partnership with Telangana Police and the Transport Department, providing EV access, skill training, and direct employment opportunities in ride-hailing and delivery services. The government further strengthened the workplace safety by improving SHe-Box 2.0, which facilitates women to report and follow up on complaints of workplace harassment in a transparent and accessible digital platform under Mission Shakti.

Globally, 789 delegates gathered at the 14th Vietnam National Women's Congress in Hanoi for Vietnam's empowering policies, leadership participation, and the development of the country.

Social Impact: Transforming Lives through Women-Centric Progress

From village celebrations to stock market participation, a wave of initiatives is redefining how women engage, lead, earn, innovate, and thrive across India.

Jindal Foundation marked the Raja Festival in Odisha with the participation of more than 1,000+ women and girls thereby championing the preservation of culture, inclusion and women-led rural development. In Maharashtra, Oracle and Swades Foundation’s ₹5.5 crore livelihoods program empowered more than 900 rural women through climate-smart farming, dairy farming, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, strengthening economic independence.

The students in Bengaluru who participated in EPCET created a Smart Women Security System using the Internet of Things (IoT) that includes GPS tracking and GSM alerts, improving personal safety and emergency response.

Meanwhile, Actress, Lisa Ray, inaugurated the first of its kind personalized clinic for menopause and midlife wellness, with a scientific and expert approach, at its branch in Hyderabad.

Dubai real estate experienced a notable growth of women professionals in 2026, with over 40% of the new brokers registered being women, indicating higher participation of women, employment opportunities and diversification in the sector.

Mumbai’s Solar Square, Co- founded by Shreya Mishra has secured $53 million in Series C funding led by B Capital to expand its residential rooftop solar solutions, strengthen technology, and accelerate clean energy adoption across India. ContraVault AI raised $3.1 million led by Chiratae Ventures to enhance its AI-powered procurement and tender analysis platform and expand into international markets.

Biryani Sister’s Foodstories raised ₹50 crore under the leadership of Nikhil Kamath to expand its premium gourmet food and lifestyle brand in the retail segment, strengthen its digital presence, and enhance its delivery capabilities. INFLUISH received pre-seed funding at a ₹25 crore valuation to expand its creator economy platform, enhance monetisation capabilities and add more creators with the platform's integrated workflows.

TrackerSuite AI, an AI business automation platform founder by Neha Chandra, secured funding of ₹6 crore for the pre-Series A round to improve its AI-powered business automation solution for SMEs, enabling it to expand into the international market. Bengaluru-based ContraVault AI led by Chiratae Ventures, has its sights set on scaling its AI-powered procurement intelligence solutions, and Zumutor is still working on advancing its clinical-stage oncology innovations.

Sports Central: Indian Women Script Wins Across Cricket Boxing

India Women secured first two wins in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, propelling them toward another successful tournament.

India women started their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign with a strong win over Pakistan by 64 runs in their first encounter at Edgbaston. Talwara village girl Gursleen Kaur of Hoshiarpur district has been appointed as an officer in the Indian Air Force, getting an impressive All India Rank of 35 in a highly competitive exam of almost 7 lakh candidates. After multiple SSB recommendations, she made it to the roll after being one of the two women from Punjab to clear the exam. She has a Masters of Science degree (Physics & English) from Panjab University and it is a result of her perseverance, excellent academic scores and will power.
