WE Hub Concludes India's First SHElterTech Accelerator for Women
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review Team | Friday, 19 June 2026
WE Hub, the first state-led nodal agency for women entrepreneurs in India, wrapped up the SHElterTech Acceleration Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative to place women-led startups at the lead of innovation in the housing and construction sector.
The program was executed in partnership with the Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter (TCIS), which is a specialized center under Habitat for Humanity International, and ended with a Cohort Showcase and Industry Networking Meet where the top real estate developers of Telangana, CSR foundations, architects, institutional investors, and government stakeholders were present.
Managing Director of Telangana Housing Corporation Limited (THCL), VP Gautham, IAS, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
The accelerator was launched primarily to remove the barriers raised in SHELterTech Gender Analysis Study which revealed the fact that women entrepreneurs in the housing and construction sector often face difficulties in accessing markets, capital and industry networks.
Key Highlights:
- WE Hub concluded the first SHElterTech acceleration program of India dedicated to women-led innovations in housing
- It was executed in collaboration with the Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter (TCIS)
- There were six start-ups exhibiting solutions in sustainable construction, water treatment, and modular housing technologies
WE Hub, in turn, came up with a laser-focused Growth and Market Activation Program that is aimed at generating real business opportunities by way of customer pilots, forming strategic partnerships, securing investments, and getting support from the regulators.
Several startups such as Q Gen-Next Sustainable Technology Pvt. Ltd., Hubeco Green Ventures Pvt. Ltd., C-DISC Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Structural Integrated Panels Pvt. Ltd., Greenbanana Environment Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and ECOSTP Technologies Pvt. Ltd. made up the cohort.
While speaking in the meeting, VP Gautham stated, “The Government of Telangana is committed to expanding affordable housing in urban areas and improving the quality of homes in rural communities. Achieving this vision requires smarter construction solutions that reduce costs, improve efficiency and shorten project timelines.”
“Startups are critical partners in this journey. The innovators in this cohort are solving real-world challenges and developing practical solutions that can make a meaningful impact. We are ready to work with them,” he added.
The group exhibited innovations that ranged from modular building systems, foundations with zero excavation through to passive cooling systems, sustainable construction materials and water treatment based on nature.
One of the most significant aspects of the programme was business matchmaking by chapters, which provided a platform for the company founders to connect via one-on-one meetings with enterprise buyers, property developers, CSR partners, and investors, leading to the purpose of turning networking opportunities into the pilot projects, and commercial partnerships.
WE Hub Sita Pallacholla CEO also said, “Women founders in the housing sector consistently told us that while they had the capability and innovative solutions, they lacked access to customers, capital and decision-makers. Bridging that gap is exactly why WE Hub exists. SHElterTech demonstrates what becomes possible when women entrepreneurs are provided with the right ecosystem, opportunities and connections to scale.”
Among those present at the event was Soumya Chanda, Executive Director Vasavi Group, along with senior representatives from the top-notch real estate firms, investors and the counterparts of the ecosystem.
By organizing SHElterTech successfully, WE Hub has once again demonstrated its dedication to promoting inclusive innovation and has made sure that women-led businesses will be the main driving force in Telangana's housing sector, economic development, and sustainability.
