Shilpi Dasgupta Joins Tata Capital as AVP

Shilpi Dasgupta has joined Tata Capital as Assistant Vice President – Corporate Communications, where she will lead the company's corporate communications efforts from its Mumbai office. She publicized her new position via a LinkedIn post.
Shilpi will be handling the corporate communication activities of Tata Capital in her new role. She leads the media relations, executive positioning, thought leadership, corporate storytelling and reputation management efforts. She will be responsible for improving the external communications approach of the company, along with leadership visibility and building the brand's image with relevant stakeholders.
Shilpi has over 13 years of corporate communications, public relations and media engagement experience. She has had experience in various industries such as technology, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), fintech and corporate communications during her career. She has designed and implemented strategic communication initiatives including thought leadership, executive profiling, media outreach, crisis communication and corporate reputation management.

Prior to joining Tata Capital, Shilpi was Assistant Vice President – Marketing and PR at an insurance tech firm, Zopper. In her years with the organization, she spearheaded the public relations and marketing efforts as well as corporate reputation management. She helped create communication strategies for senior management, product content, media engagement and communication campaigns for product launches and new business. Her tasks included helping the company's branding and reinforcing the market presence by integrated communication programs.
Shilpi’s background before joining Zopper includes experience with top global communications firms Edelman and Weber Shandwick. In her tenure at these firms, she handled communications requirements for clients in various sectors such as technology, financial, consumer brands and corporate enterprises. She developed a wealth of experience in integrated communications, media relations, brand positioning, content strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
Shilpi's work over the years has provided her with the ability to craft and implement strategic communication campaigns that support business goals. She has worked across a range of areas that include media management, executive thought leadership platforms, communications business development and corporate reputation planning. She has also closely collaborated with leadership teams to improve executive visibility and organizational messaging through traditional as well as digital media channels.
Her appointment coincides with the growing importance of strategic communications to build trust with stakeholders, improve corporate image and ensure that leadership is visible in a changing business landscape. With her background in integrated communications and corporate storytelling, Dasgupta is expected to contribute to Tata Capital's efforts to further enhance its communications strategy and public engagement.
While at Tata Capital, as Assistant Vice President – Corporate Communications, her focus will be on progressing Tata Capital's communication goals, building media relations, assisting executive communications, and championing thought-leadership that further solidifies Tata Capital's brand positioning. Her diverse background in agency and in-house communications should lend a broad spectrum of insight to the company's corporate communications role.
