Sandoz has appointed Simranjeet Kaur as Director, Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) for its Asia Cluster, marking a significant addition to the company’s regional leadership team. In her new position, Kaur will spearhead business development and licensing activities across Asia, focusing on portfolio expansion, strategic alliances, licensing opportunities, and long-term growth initiatives. With over a decade of experience in pharmaceutical business development, portfolio strategy, and commercial expansion, she brings a proven track record of driving partnerships and unlocking growth opportunities across global markets.

Simranjeet joins Sandoz after spending more than seven years at Lupin, where she most recently served as Head of Business Development & Licensing. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s international growth strategy across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. Her responsibilities included leading licensing transactions, alliance management initiatives, merger and acquisition activities, portfolio expansion programmes, and commercial partnerships.
She also managed regional profit-and-loss responsibilities and contributed to strategic investment decisions that supported business growth in key markets. Her ability to identify new opportunities and build strong partnerships helped strengthen Lupin’s international portfolio and market presence.
Before leading business development initiatives at Lupin, Kaur worked as a Portfolio Strategy Manager, overseeing portfolio planning, product strategy, market assessments, forecasting, and return-on-investment evaluations. She was actively involved in licensing negotiations and portfolio optimisation efforts aimed at maximising commercial value and long-term competitiveness.
Throughout her career, Kaur has demonstrated expertise in managing complex business development projects and creating sustainable growth pathways for pharmaceutical organisations. Her experience spans licensing, alliance management, mergers and acquisitions, forecasting, commercial strategy, and market expansion.
Before joining Lupin, she held product management roles at Mankind Pharma, where she contributed to specialty business development and dermatology portfolio growth. She was involved in product launches, marketing strategies, and digital initiatives that supported the company’s expansion efforts in specialised therapeutic segments.
Earlier, she worked with Zydus Cadila Healthcare in various product and marketing management positions. During this period, she gained valuable experience in product development, business strategy, and portfolio management, helping to build a strong foundation for her future leadership roles. She began her professional journey as a Marketing Executive at Adecco.
Among her notable achievements, Kaur successfully executed dozens of supply and licensing agreements and played a key role in securing strategic licensing partnerships with international pharmaceutical companies. Her contributions have been associated with significant portfolio growth and revenue expansion in advanced markets, further reinforcing her reputation as a business development leader.
An MBA graduate in Marketing Management from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Kaur combines strategic insight with commercial expertise. Her appointment comes at a time when Sandoz continues to expand its global footprint and strengthen its leadership position in generic and biosimilar medicines.
