In the villages and communities of India, women are taking new opportunities, becoming more economically self-sufficient, and forging new positions for themselves in the society.

In her keynote address at the conference, President Droupadi Murmu stated that the Child Sex Ratio in Haryana had improved from 871 girl children per 1000 boy children in 2014 to more than 915 in November 2025, thanks to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. She also appreciated the achievements of women sports persons of Haryana and the progress made in the state towards women empowerment. In the meantime, a new study by ICRIER had pointed out that the female Worker Population Ratio in the country has increased from 22% in 2017-18 to 38% in 2025 and the growth rate of the women's participation in the rural areas was higher than the urban areas. However, much of this growth came from an increase in farming, with a significant portion being obtained in an informal capacity within the family; this change was attributed to a desire for better quality jobs and income security.
