Artisan Bazaar 3.0 Promotes Women-Led Businesses & Local Crafts
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review Team | Thursday, 5 November 2026
Artisan Bazaar 3.0 was recently organized for showcasing India's traditional arts and crafts, including local products at Mahajan Hall, Shalamar, Jammu yesterday. The event encouraged participation of women entrepreneurs, artisans, traditional craftsmen and local business entrepreneurs under one roof. The exhibition highlighted the business potentiality of indigenous skills while providing visibility to small business entrepreneurs.
Blending the allure of age-old artisanship and modern-day lifestyle products, Artisan Bazaar 3.0 gave the visitors a delightful experience in its marketplaces. Organised as a curated collection, the bazaar presented an array of creative products that highlighted the fine craftsmanship and emerging entrepreneurship in India.
Key Highlights:
- Artisan Bazaar 3.0 showcases indigenous crafts, local products and women-led businesses in Jammu
- Women entrepreneurs and artisans gain visibility through a curated marketplace
- The initiative promotes Swadeshi, Vocal for Local and Aatmanirbhar Bharat
From handcrafted clothes, intricately embroidered garments, traditional handicrafts, designer jewellery, crocheted products, artsy home décor, furniture and lifestyle products, the exhibition captured the talent and expertise of the artisans and designers. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) was the Chief Guest of the event and Devyani Rana, MLA, Nagrota Constituency was the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the meeting, Devyani stressed the importance of adopting Swadeshi goods and encouraged the Made in India philosophy. She acknowledged promoting locally made products, handicrafts, and indigenous craftsmanship. In addition, the event’s objective is also consistent with the concepts of Vocal for Local, Swadeshi and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The initiative gave visibility to women entrepreneurs, young startups, local artists, and independent artists. The common marketplace gave people a chance to showcase their products and have direct interaction with clients gaining visibility for their brands. Moreover, the bazaar emphasized that traditional skills and crafts may be commercially viable without losing cultural roots.
The exhibition also included other fun-filled activities with a host of culinary delights. The visitors also had interactive sessions with tarot card reading along with delectable food options ranging from tasty regional cuisines to authentic Dogri food and bakery products.
Expressing gratitude towards the effort taken, Romesh Chander Gupta, Pradhan of Mahajan Sabha, appreciated the concept of Artisan Bazaar 3.0. He laid emphasis on the extensive work done by the organising team in bringing together numerous entrepreneurs, artisans and local business owners. He also spoke about the importance of these platforms giving motivation and encouragement to women entrepreneurs.
Such initiatives also educate people about the importance of locally manufactured products and indigenous arts. Romesh also appreciated the hard work put in by the organising team and congratulated them for organising such a successful event.
The objective of the programme still remains focused on creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs and bringing the artistic heritage. This in turn brings India closer to the modern market. Through this platform, not only traditional artisans and women-led businesses but also the independent creators can exhibit their products.
In addition, the bazaar is devoted to the lives and stories behind each and every piece. A handmade piece is the result of the years of hard work and skills of the artisan. This holds utmost importance as it has been carried on from generation to generation through many hours of effort. Thus, buying one of these pieces, an individual not only purchases the item but acknowledges the creative skills and supports the livelihood of these artisans.
