FICCI FLO 42nd Session Highlights Women-Led Growth

The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) started its 42nd Annual Session at Federation House on March 29 to examine how women-led enterprises contribute to economic growth in India. National President Poonam Sharma leads the event which unites policy leaders and business executives and professionals to examine entrepreneurship development in emerging industries and digital transformation and artificial intelligence and skill development and sustainable growth. Poonam addressed the audience by showing FLO's efforts to build networks and empower people through dialogue while explaining that people must unite to achieve complete inclusiveness. FLO which FICCI established in 1983 as its women's wing works to advance women's leadership and entrepreneurship while increasing women's role in economic growth.

Titan Appoints Ruma Kishore as Chief Digital Officer

Titan Company Limited has appointed Ruma Kishore as its new Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), with her role set to begin on July 1, 2026. The announcement was made on March 25, 2026, through a regulatory filing under SEBI guidelines. Ruma who has more than 28 years of worldwide experience has established himself as an expert who leads digital changes while enhancing business operations and generating revenue growth for companies. She has received several awards and is a well-known name in the IT industry. She received recognition as one of India’s top women professionals in IT while she became the first female recipient of the IIM Mumbai Outstanding Alumni Award. She fulfills her corporate responsibilities while she dedicates her time to mentoring students and participating in academic and policy development organizations.

Ashwini Bhide Becomes First Woman BMC Commissioner in 160 Years

Ashwini Bhide has assumed the role of Municipal Commissioner for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation which makes her the first woman IAS officer to achieve this position since the organization began 160 years ago. She became the new IAS officer who would lead the department after she succeeded Bhushan Gagrani because she believed that people would continue to expect the same results from her work. Her appointment demonstrates how women now occupy leadership positions because most BMC management positions have been filled by female employees who include Mayor Ritu Tawde and Leader of Opposition Kishori Pednekar. Women throughout Maharashtra have started to obtain top leadership positions which include DGP and Chief Secretary. Leaders welcomed her appointment as a major advance which would create better city governance through increased diversity and better effectiveness.

UBUNTU-Hitachi Rail CSR to Train 1,000 Womenpreneurs in Karnataka

The UBUNTU Consortium established its partnership with Hitachi Rail Corporation through its CSR program to help women entrepreneurs in Karnataka. The program will train more than 1000 women to establish and develop their businesses while focusing on enterprises that women manage and their access to digital technology. The programme will provide digital marketing training to 10 women entrepreneur groups as part of a MoU signed on November 1 2017 which will help them sell products in wider markets. K Ratnaprabha, the Founder President, explained that the partnership will enhance skills and optimize supply chains while creating new business prospects through access to major projects and international markets. The UBUNTU organization has assisted more than 4000 women entrepreneurs throughout its history.

20 Women Honoured at Nari Samman Samaroh in Karnal

The Bharat Vikas Parishad, Karnal Branch, organized a Nari Samman Samaroh at Dr. Mangalsen Auditorium, where 20 women from different fields were honored for their valuable contributions to society. The awards were presented by Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh who demonstrated how women's advancement directly benefits progress throughout society. He stressed the need to support women’s aspirations and praised ongoing efforts toward women’s development. MLA Jagmohan Anand shared that the Parishad promotes the spirit of giving back to society and encourages community involvement. The event attracted various important dignitaries including Mitra Ghosh and other leaders who participated in this significant tribute to women's accomplishments.
