FICCI FLO 42nd Session Highlights Women-Led Growth

The 42nd Annual Session of the FICCI Ladies Organisation started on the 29th of March at Federation House, offering a platform to engage in discussions pertaining to women-driven growth and their role in the economy of India.
The event is being led by Poonam Sharma, National President of FICCI FLO, and brings together members of the policy, business, and professional communities to engage in discussions pertaining to the changing role of women in the economy of India, which is comprised of both emerging and established sectors of the economy.
Discussions and initiatives pertaining to entrepreneurship in new sectors of the economy, the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in business, and initiatives pertaining to skill development and capacity building are some of the major themes of the event, which also include discussions pertaining to sustainable development and social impact.
During her address at the meeting, Poonam stated that she wished to bring to the attention of the members the activities of the organisation over the past year in the context of networking, empowerment, and dialogue. She also stated that collective action was required in order to bring about greater inclusiveness.
FICCI FLO is an organisation that was established in the year 1983. It is the women’s wing of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It is a national-level organisation that looks to promote women’s entrepreneurship and women’s leadership.
The activities of the organisation include skill development, professional networking, and policy issues in the context of gender-inclusive economic growth.
As it is part of the FICCI, which was established in the year 1927, it has national and international linkages. It is still part of the initiatives that promote women’s employability and women’s entrepreneurship.
