India delivered its greatest-ever boxing performance at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, sweeping nine gold medals, seven of them won by women. Stars like Nikhat Zareen, Jaismine Lamboria, and Parveen Hooda dominated Olympic-class events with decisive wins, backed by golds from Minakshi, Preeti, Arundhati Choudhary, and Nupur Sheoran. With all 20 Indian boxers reaching the podium, India topped the medal table ahead of global giants. The tournament showcased India’s growing depth, emotional resilience, and readiness for the 2028 Olympics, with athletes calling the victory one of the most meaningful moments of their careers.

Krishna Jayasankar becomes the First Indian Woman to cross the 16m Mark in Indoor shot put

Krishna Jayasankar made history at the 2025 Mountain West Indoor Championships by becoming the first Indian woman to cross 16 metres in indoor shotput, recording 16.03m. The Chennai-born 22-year-old shattered the previous national indoor record of 15.54m and secured a bronze medal in a high-profile field. Her final-round throw pushed her from fourth to a podium finish, earning her qualification for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Krishna’s rise reflects India’s growing presence in elite indoor athletics, especially as distance runner Gulveer Singh also broke the 13-minute barrier in the 5000m the same week, a major milestone for Indian indoor sports.
