India delivered a landmark performance at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 in Greater Noida, clinching a record nine gold medals and finishing with a perfect 20-medal haul at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex. All 20 Indian pugilists reached the podium as the hosts topped the medal table with nine gold, six silver, and five bronze medals, overshadowing Uzbekistan’s four-gold tally.

Women boxers powered India’s dominant outing, capturing seven of the nine gold medals and sweeping all Olympic-class divisions. The final day saw sensational performances from Nikhat Zareen (51kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), and Parveen Hooda (60kg), who sealed their titles with commanding victories in the evening session. Earlier, Minakshi (48kg), Preeti (54kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), and Nupur Sheoran (80+kg) set the tone with a golden run in the afternoon.

Nikhat broke her medal drought with a sharp 5-0 win over Chinese Taipei’s Guo Yi Xuan, while Jaismine stunned Paris Olympic medallist Wu Shih Yi 4-1 in one of the tournament’s standout bouts. Parveen edged Japan’s Ayaka Taguchi 3-2 in a gritty contest marked by superior movement and counterpunching.

India’s men contributed two golds, rounding off a defining campaign that showcased the nation’s depth ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which will feature gender parity across weight categories.

Roared on by a packed home crowd, India’s boxers described the moment as deeply emotional. Minakshi called her medal “the medal of the whole of India,” while Nikhat said she was “delighted to restart her golden journey.” Nupur hailed the tournament’s world-class standards as India celebrated its greatest-ever performance on the global stage.
