
How India's Favorite Fashion Brands Prepare for Festive Season

As Diwali lights begin to line homes and marketplaces, the best time of the year is here. Amidst the celebrations, India is also gearing up to shop. The fashion retail sector is already buzzing with a flurry of activity as consumers throng offline and online marketplaces to get their shopping fix for the festive season. With the new GST reforms coming into play, consumers are even more excited to shop for themselves and their near ones.
Festive shopping during Diwali has essentially been a major driver of the retail sector in India where fashion is the leading contributor. Online fashion sales in 2024 went up by 42% which was a double of what other categories such as the Consumer-Packaged Goods, according to The Financial Express.
This Diwali, retailers hold an optimistic view that these elements will come together to produce sales that are beyond any previous records, as consumers will be able to take advantage of both the festive discounts and the benefits of the simplified taxation system. The Confederation of All India Traders has forecasted Diwali trade to exceed ₹4.75 lakh crore (around $53.5 billion).
