Before ideating Saijith Digital Marketing, Sankari Saravanan was working with different in many industries. She gained rich experience of 13 years in the field of digital marketing and began her entrepreneurial journey in the year 2013. In the 7 years of rewarding journey, Saijith not only served services in India but also overseas like UK, Australia, USA, Dubai, Singapore, and more. Recognizing Sankari Saravanan as one of the top leaders in digital marketing, Women Entrepreneur Indian engages an exclusive conversation with her.
Take us through your educational and professional background. How did the journey lead you to establish a firm that specializes in digital marketing and SEO?
I have completed my Bachelors in Computer science and Masters in IT and Management from Nadar Saraswathi College, Theni. Post my education, I had worked in a startup but ever since my college days, my passion was to start my firm. The driving force to stay independent led me to start this business in digital marketing.
I always feel that doing the job that you love is something that will take you to a new horizon. It boosts your confidence level. Digital Marketing and SEO concepts aren’t something that someone has got to teach you in person. It is all self-explanatory and research-oriented. All you got to do is to analyze the updates that Google rolls out and put some extra effort in your research work. This is what made me fall in love with this sector of industry. Basically, when you take up things that gives you more passionate and the longing to update yourself in any particular field, this will make you shine bright in it. So, it is always the interest and dedication that leads you to who are.
What opportunities do you foresee in the market?
Initially, when I started Saijith, digital marketing companies across India were very few. In fact, many were not aware of the term Digital Marketing, it was only SEO. There was a time when none of the social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp existed. It was only Google.
As compared to other countries, India lags in many products and services. But when it comes to Digital Marketing, India has a bounty of services in this sector. But now, with more MNCs coming in, this industry started blooming. But slowly and gradually, all the companies have started to dwell and invest in Digital Marketing.
But the main focus in SEO lies in understanding Google’s algorithm and bringing your company forward. As everything now is becoming digitalized, online trade and online business are what people could foresee. Soon we could see Digital Marketing shaping the eCommerce field in all aspects. So, just by understanding Google’s algorithm and working more on the keywords, we can stand tall in the market, despite high competition.
Based on the nature of the business, Saijith analyses the type of the promotional activities is decided, and advertisement campaigns are tailored as per their needs. This will give them more leads, which will ultimately lead to the growth of their business. So, after a detailed run down and thorough analysis of their business requirements, we run them the required advertisements campaign. So, by becoming one with the customer, we can help them grow and shine in the market.
“Saijith has served over 360-400 clients in sectors spanning hospitals, restaurants, automobile industries, manufacturing industries, schools, and so on”
Take us through a client case study that illustrates the positive impact that your services had on the clients’ business requirements.
Saijith takes pride in saying that we are still on good terms with some of the clients for about 4 to 7 years. These clients have grown huge in their business because of us, which is why they are our recurring clients. So, I usually look up to these clients as my biggest strength and support for making Saijith outshine in the Digital Marketing industry.
How has your professional growth journey been so far? What are the different facets of your personality or your leadership style that have helped you lead the company in its journey to success?
Initially, we began with only SEO service, then as the industries started expanding, more and more industries came in, we also started to increase our strength by understanding the clients’ needs.
We began this journey with only 6 members, and then according to our needs and demands, we started to increase in our strength, as more and more projects from many different countries started pitching in. As of today, we hire employees based on the requirements and services that we got to provide to our clients. Today, Saijith stands with 24 employees in total. Assigning the work to the employees as per their designation and getting the work done, working as per the clients’ expectation, understanding their style of marketing needs, and giving them satisfaction are some of the areas I feel leads to Saijith’s growth.
Given that the digital landscape is everevolving, how do you as a marketer keep up with the developments taking place in the industry constantly?
To be honest, we are getting many evaluations of late. A few years back, Google brought about its new algorithm. So, we started losing many of our clients, as they could feel that their website lagged in indexing. So, we started to keep ourselves abreast of the algorithms and started working more on enhancing the strategies. Yes, indeed Digital Marketing is a dynamic industry. This field highly requires that you should be patient and maintain vigor since the start. It is as simple as that. If you understand the clients’ needs and also work on the updates that Google provides, you can shine in this field for sure.
