Parul Tarang Bhargava began her entrepreneurial journey with the vision to do something different. She cofounded vCommission - a leading global affiliate network that over the years has managed to lead the country’s digital business ecosystem. She strongly believes in adding value to partners and in addressing their needs while taking all the necessary steps to fulfill their requirements in the most effective and optimized way possible. With this, today, vCommission dominates as the front-runner in the industry. The company is majorly focusing on the business verticals such as E-commerce, Travel, Finance & Insurance, and iGaming.

In an exclusive conversation with Women Entrepreneur India, Parul shares interesting details about the company and her journey.

Enumerate on your educational and professional background.

I come from a middle-class family in Delhi. In terms of academics, I’ve done B.Tech in IT. On the professional front, I am having 10+ years of experience as an entrepreneur with a diverse skillset ranging from digital marketing, performance marketing to sales. However, since the beginning, I have not been a very techie person. Perhaps, this was one of the reasons I chose to be a content writer. It gave me the freedom to explore my creative side while being able to earn.

And if you ask me about my decision of entering into entrepreneurship, then I would say that I always wanted to try something unconventional and see how far I could push myself while creating a positive impact upon my life and of those whom I work with.

It was in 2006, that I came around this opportunity to be associated with vCommission. Now, in hindsight, when I see my journey, all I can say is that though we have accomplished much, as a brand, we still have a long way to go, learn many new things, maybe even not do well at a few of them, however, in the end, come out victorious. This is how I like it. I don’t like to stop, I always keep looking for better and more substantial opportunities to crack that extraordinary code of success.

What are the various differential advantages and benefits that clients derive by engaging your firm’s services?

It won’t be an understatement to say that as a brand, we’ve learned a great many things with our sheer grit, perseverance & even trial and error approach.

Our digital marketing expertise matched with the presence of our team and unparalleled knowhow of business concepts gives us an edge over our competitors. This helps us in leading ahead with our journey to soar above the rest while we constantly keep on breaking our limitations and redefine the traditional business conventions.

How has been vCommission’s growth journey been so far?

I believe that any market leader must have a set of predefined and healthy values which act as the right metrics for its internal as well as external success. Although we are still learning and growing as a company, a lot remains for us to accomplish. But until now, it's our values that have helped us come this far in our journey. From good client support to revenue generation two major attributes have helped us a great deal in stretching vCommission to its current position. These core attributes are Commitment & Values.

In my personal experience, I have seen that commitment is something that allows us to ensure we promise only what we can deliver to both our clients as well as our colleagues. On the other hand, strong values act as a manual to understand how to treat people in the right manner and create a winning environment for everybody.

With these two business principles by our side as the core values along with the right knowledge, integrity, and teamwork, our business has grown in leaps and bounds.

What is the roadmap ahead for vCommission?

As our industry operates on closing targets and is always on the lookout to attain bigger and better numbers, a part of our business process at vCommission includes that too. However, in the long run, we see ourselves as a Unicorn Company that would be operating at a breakneck speed and would have acquired several businesses successfully functioning under the VC ONE group.

I will also add that post covid, the dynamics of doing business have changed a great deal not just in our country but globally as well.

Even, with the pace of this new normal, we are flourishing and closing targets for our business. Thus, our vision is to continue exploring new waters at a global level while we also lay a great deal of strategic focus on our homegrown business i.e., our homeland, India.

Do you have any suggestions for people aspiring to build their careers in the marketing & advertising industry of India?

The only thing I would like to share with anyone, be it an aspiring entrepreneur or someone who wants to do well in their life. They need to always remember that nothing is achieved overnight, satisfaction and contentment in life don’t happen overnight. You need to persevere; there is no substitute for that. Secondly, you should always have a learning attitude towards everything. And if you feel confident and motivated enough that you have to do something, then you should do it, doesn’t matter if it’s running a business or something as trivial as joining a new course. There is no age, no gender, no degree required to take the plunge.
