IIM Kozhikode sees 100% Increase in Women's Enrollment in Executive MBA Programme
By: WE staff | Friday, 20 June 2025
- The number of women enrolling in IIM Kozhikode's Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) has significantly increased
- This indicates a greater interest in advanced management among female professionals
With women making up 26 percent of its two-year Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), a 100 percent increase over the previous three batches, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has achieved a significant milestone in gender diversity. This rise indicates that professional women are becoming more interested in pursuing leadership roles through advanced management training.
The surge in women taking part comes as IIMK widened its inclusivity and accessibility efforts for executive education. Addressing a recent "Mindful Leadership" masterclass in Bengaluru, IIMK Director Prof. Debashis Chatterjee hailed the milestone and talked about how mindfulness enables leaders to make wise decisions.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee also launched his new book ‘1 Minute Wisdom’, a book of leadership and life insights, brought out by Penguin India. He stressed that the EPGP is made for application in the real world, for innovation, and wide reach, drawing talent from diverse industries from all over India.
IIM Kozhikode is India's second-best IIM and the 22nd best in the Asia-Pacific region in the QS Executive MBA Rankings 2025. Its recently graduated 15th batch consisted of a record number of 615 learners. Urban engagement has increased remarkably, with participation from large cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi rising from 51 percent in the 13th batch to 67 percent in the 17th.
The EPGP has also grown more varied with regard to academic and industry backgrounds. Approximately 25 percent of the present batch is from non-engineering disciplines because individuals from industries such as manufacturing, finance, education, and consulting look to get additional skills.
According to Prof. Debashis, the EPGP has helped more than 5,000 professionals become strategic decision makers. Because of its industry-neutral structure, excellent faculty, experiential learning, and collaborations with both the public and private sectors, the program is modern and effective.
It appears that mid-career professionals seeking advancement are very interested in this program, as approximately 30 percent of current students have six to nine years of experience.
Applications for the 18th batch of the EPGP have been invited. The course has core courses in Marketing, Strategy, and HR, along with electives in streams like Digital Transformation and International Business. The course consists of live online classes, projects, and three week-long campus or global immersions, backed by worldwide collaborations. Learners receive lifelong membership to IIMK's professional alumni network with 13,000+ members.
