Amway India, a leading FMCG Direct Selling company, has launched the "Pehal" initiative under their Nari Shakti Project, in partnership with NGO Deepalaya. This initiative is a commitment to societal development and empowering women who are underprivileged. Pehal is a special platform that allows underprivileged women to start and grow successful businesses for long-term financial sustainability. It is managed by 40 women who are working as Project Nari Shakti individuals and serves as both a production center and a retail store. The goal of this skill-building and livelihood initiative is to empower women. Along with other representatives from Amway India and Deepalaya, the project was launched by Dr. George John, Secretary & Chief Executive of Deepalaya, Mr. Ajay Khanna, Head of Amway India, and Shri. Lachhiram Naib Tehsildar.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Rajneesh Chopra emphasized the importance of women to drive economic progress and shape society as a whole. He noted that 13.76 per cent of Indian entrepreneurs are women, indicating the abundance of chances for financial independence. More than 35,000 people have received support from the Nari Shakti initiative where more than 3,000 are women, and 80 per cent of them have become financially independent. The Pehal initiative was launched with the goal of promoting the development of a strong ecosystem of women entrepreneurs at the smallest level. It easily fits in with Amway's larger goal of empowering women and opening doors for a more promising and inclusive future.
