The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to kickstart today on 3 October 2024 with Bangladesh vs. Scotland at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The T20 World Championship will feature 23 matches over 18 days for the ultimate ICC title.
Ahead of the mega tournament, Captains' Day, a pre-tournament event was held that celebrated competition and unity among top cricketers. The captains shared their thoughts and aspirations for the tournament, highlighting the growing popularity of women's cricket and the World Cup's potential to inspire future generations. They also emphasized the sport's inclusivity for young girls.
The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, originally scheduled for Bangladesh, has been moved to the UAE due to political unrest and safety concerns. The tournament will take place in Dubai and Sharjah from 3 October 2024 to 20 October 2024, with teams divided into Group A and B.
Team India, ranked third in the world, is gearing up to lift their first ICC World Cup in 2024, following their three previous runner-up finishes. Harmanpreet Kaur-led team India will begin their Women's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on October 4 in the UAE.
