Modern consumers have grown to become increasingly health-conscious. They seek new-age products and solutions that can not only boost their well-being but also enhance their lifestyle choices. Bringing in a lifestyle revolution in the Indian oral-care sector is Dr Snehal Dhatrak.

A dentist with over 12 years of experience, she founded MyOrl-Care, a premium oral hygiene product brand, on the foundation of extensive research and consumer understanding. Renowned for pioneering ground-breaking innovation, she has introduced disruptive oral-care innovations that have revolutionized oral health to elevate and integrate daily hygiene into a lifestyle statement.

With a focus on preventive care, Dr Snehal commitment to reshaping smiles has allowed her to set new global standards in oral wellness.

What inspired your entrepreneurial journey in the oral-health space?

Coming from a middle-class background, I was always driven by hard work. I began my career as a cosmetic dentist and now I proudly function as a full-time entrepreneur. This transition was challenging, but the results have proven to be well worth my efforts. What was once limited to serving patients in the four walls of a clinic has now expanded into an opportunity to innovate and create a global platform.

The journey forward has been thought-provoking with multiple highs and lows, but I view every challenge as an opportunity for growth. To me, the entrepreneurial journey has been significantly more rigorous and demanding than the structured world of dentistry.

My path has been largely shaped by persistence and self-reliance. From earning my education and degrees to being crowned Mr Singha Queen of Hearts 2022, all have been a result of dedication, conviction, and hard work. I consider myself as a relentless go-getter.

Introduce us to MyOrl-Care. What are your primary roles and responsibilities as its Founder and CEO?

It all started with identifying the gap that toothbrushes fell short of deep cleaning and weren’t doing enough. Determined to solve the problem, I found MyOrl- Care with a clear vision, to reshape the healthcare landscape, starting with oral dental hygiene and care.

Driven by science, ethics, and empathy, our mission is to make the brand stand for innovation, problem-solving, and value creation in people’s daily lives. Driving initiatives with an entrepreneurial focus, I turned my vision into reality of solving daily problems.

By innovating India’s 1st 3-sided toothbrush, I have reimagined the toothbrush as a technology-driven solution; a market concept entirely unprecedented in the industry.

Drive progress on pillars of resilience, persistence, and consistency

In my capacity as a Founder and CEO, I take charge of the strategic areas that fuel growth and innovation, product development, brand building, and marketing. We also proudly run our manufacturing plant in Nashik, which allows us to steer and have control over quality and creativity.

I aspire to make MyOrl-Care a trusted name in the healthcare landscape by ushering in a Health-Tech Revolution.

How does MyOrl-Care’s product portfolio address unmet consumer needs?

MyOrl-Care operates as a consume brand in the D2C space, offering products that go beyond the dental chair. From toothbrushes to tongue cleaners, our product portfolio is built for everyone, not just patients. We are reshaping how people experience oral care in their everyday routines.

Drawing inspiration from established global methods in healthcare industry, MyOrl-Care focuses on preventive oral care. Our products are developed to not only solve daily concerns but also proactively reduce the likelihood of future dental complications.

Looking back at your multi-dimensional journey, as a dentist, entrepreneur and beauty pageant winner, what key milestones or achievements stand out for you? What is your “success mantra”?

Entering dentistry was not straightforward for me. At 18, I missed my CET seat by a single mark, which could have ended my dream. But with determination, I invested another year to prepare, reattempted the exam, and earned my place. That moment became my first milestone.

My journey began with achieving one of the highest scores in the CET, which secured my place in dentistry. I then founded my own clinic, where I practiced for eight years.

Later, I took on larger platform by joining Medicover Hospital, a prestigious European hospital chain, marking another significant career achievement.

Serving as HOD for Dentistry, a leadership position that I held for six years was another milestone. Alongside, I followed my passion for pageantry as a platform for confidence, growth and self-expressions. Competing nationally in Delhi, I represented Maharashtra and was honored as runner-up for Mrs.

India 2020, an experience that taught me invaluable lessons in resilience and presentation. After pitching 100+ investors and 1.5 years of product trials, the company now proudly stands at ₹20 crores.

How do you foresee India’s oral healthcare sector evolving? What major shifts do you believe will shape the future of this industry?

Social media platforms have revolutionized health awareness. Today, consumers are more conscious about fitness, wellness, and oral care, enabling MyOrl- Care to educate and engage effectively. Within two months, we have received strong market traction, fueled by Gen Z’s enthusiasm, for healthier, innovative choices.

Dental health impacts overall well-being, and prevention is the most effective ways to sustain natural teeth. Preserving what nature has given is always better than repairing or replacing with artificial solutions. Today’s consumers aim to improve every aspect of their lives.

Awareness around oral health has grown exponentially, positioning it as a high-potential segment for future innovation and business growth.
