The country as a whole would advance if women advanced, according to President Droupadi Murmu, who added that it is important to ensure that women's education leads to increasing employment.

Speaking at Mizoram University's 17th Convocation, the President said that the institution, which began operations in 2001, is now a well-known institution in the northeastern region that offers high-quality education.

She added that the university had made significant efforts to support academics, which had led to outstanding advancements in the fields of science, the arts, commerce, engineering, and medicine.

Murmu praised Mizoram University's rapid expansion of its infrastructure, noting that the institution had achieved the designation of "Institution of Eminence" and undertaken some ground-breaking activities.

The President mentioned the three incubators the Mizoram University has for giving students cutting-edge and useful training.

For various academic and technological collaborations, the University has signed MoUs with numerous universities and organisations at the national and international levels. Their skills have no bounds.

They should therefore simply tap into their potential. The President recommended the students to travel and try different things because they are the greatest judges of their own talent and potential.

She also exhorted them to take on the duty of illuminating knowledge and educating the uneducated.

More girls should enrol in technical educational institutes, urges President Droupadi Murmu. The President noted that more than 50% of students who graduated in the academic year 2021–2022 were female, and that while the proportion of women in higher education is increasing, it should do so more quickly.

Murmu claimed that the opening of two indigenous girls' dorms at Sairang and the Mizoram University is a step toward the empowerment of female students by giving them access to high-quality instruction and other amenities.

She claimed that the opening of IIMC Aizawl's permanent campus would advance the field of mass communication and media studies throughout the entire northeast.

The President also virtually broke ground on a number of education-related projects, including ST Girls Hostels at Pachhunga University College and Mizoram University, Government Aizawl College at Maulpui, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication's permanent campus at Aizawl, and the permanent campus of Mizoram University.
