BJP Releases Manifesto Ensuring Women's Empowerment ahead of Jharkhand Assembly Elections
The BJP has released its manifesto for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections regarding empowering and uplifting the needs of state residents. It promises to provide two free LPG cylinders and gas cylinders at Rs 500 to women under the Laxmi Johar Yojana, create 287,000 government jobs, and offer 500,000 self-employment opportunities. The manifesto mentions the 'Gogo Didi' scheme that assures offering Rs 2,100 per month along with providing concrete homes and tap water connections to 21 lakh families.
Flipkart partners with NRLM to Empower Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Haryana
India's homegrown e-commerce marketplace, Flipkart has partnered with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) to empower rural women entrepreneurs in Haryana through an orientation workshop. Over 70 participants, including women entrepreneurs, SHGs, and micro-enterprises, gained insights into product listing, logistics, and strategic business growth. The partnership is part of Flipkart's Samarth program to empower underserved communities to build sustainable livelihoods.
Bhubaneswar to establish 'Radio Blue' India's First All-Women Radio Station
Bhubaneswar is set to make history with the launch of India's first all-women community radio station, ‘Radio Blue’. The Asia Centre for Development Communication & Research (ACDCR) after receiving licenses from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Department of Telecommunications is spearheading this initiative that will focus on women's issues, rights, and aspirations, serving both urban and rural communities.
Apple announces Establishment of Hostel for 100,000 Women Workers in India
Tech giant Apple has announced plans to build hostel facilities for 100,000 women workers across India with the aim to offer safe and comfortable accommodation for women working in Apple's supply chain. Being established under the public-private partnership (PPP) women employees working in its factories will be provided a decent hostel to stay. The hostels will be ready by the end of the financial year 2024-25 comprising housing models similar to China and Vietnam ensuring efficiency and safety for women's accommodation.

Since Indian Sports will celebrate 100 years of hockey, the Hockey India League (HIL) is all set for a come-back. With the re-launch of HIL, 2024 shall mark a year-long celebration while marking the rich history of Indian hockey after a seven-year hiatus.
