Great Learning takes its flagship #HerFreshStart campaign global on Mother's Day
By: WE Staff | Friday, 12 May 2023
On account of Mother’s Day, Great Learning, a leading global edtech company for higher education and professional training, has launched the fourth edition of its flagship campaign #HerFreshStart this year. The campaign was first launched in 2020 in light of the Covid-19 pandemic with an aim to empower mothers who wish to reignite their careers and return to work. Building on the success of the campaign in India, the brand has expanded the campaign globally this year to reach and empower mothers worldwide.
As part of this initiative, Great Learning will provide scholarships of upto 50% to selected mothers in India who enroll in industry-relevant programs such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Software Development Management, and Digital Marketing. As a global expansion of its flagship campaign, Great Learning will offer up to $1000 scholarships for mothers worldwide, in support of its efforts to empower women outside india.
According to a 2021 study by management consultancy, Zinnov, in India only two per cent of women who had left the workforce joined back. Being out of touch with the current job requirements is one of the major reasons why women aren’t confident to join the workforce post a maternity break. This underscores the pressing need for skilling initiatives to assist women in returning to work. The #HerFreshStart campaign is geared towards extending the necessary skills required to help mothers navigate their way back into the workforce with a sense of self-assurance.
To apply for the scholarships, interested candidates have to express their interest on Great Learning’s social media posts about the initiative. After that, they can submit the application form available on the campaign page along with a Statement of Purpose (SOP) introducing themselves and explaining why they deserve the scholarship. Nominees will be further interviewed by a learning consultant from Great Learning. The nomination window for the scholarships is open until 14th May, 2023.
Aparna Mahesh, Chief Marketing Officer, Great Learning said, “As a working mother myself, I understand the challenges that mothers face when returning to work after a significant career gap. The ever-evolving nature of technology and the demand for new skills can be overwhelming for anyone, let alone mothers returning to work after a long career gap. Our goal with this campaign is to empower mothers who want to reclaim their careers and thrive in this new business environment. Through the last three editions of #HerFreshStart, we were delighted to see the response of over a thousand mothers looking to upskill and re-enter the workforce with confidence. This positive response has encouraged us to now expand the initiative globally, so that we can help even more women all around the world to achieve their career aspirations.”
The #HerFreshStart campaign, conceptualized by Great Learning’s in-house team in 2020, has enabled women from all over India to build industry-relevant skills through programs in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Cloud Computing and more. It will be promoted on various digital channels including social media in the week of Mother’s Day.
