Raman Sidhu: On A Mission To Create A Brand Focused On Holistic Wellness & The Power Of Nature

Raman Sidhu
Co-Founder & CEO, Life Aveda

India's past is abundant with the application of herbal remedies to foster inner healing and complete wellness. For centuries, the employment of natural herbs in Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical practice, has remained prevalent and continues to serve as a preferred substitute form of healing in contemporary times. These botanical cures not only provide a natural and efficacious cure for numerous ailments but also encapsulate a comprehensive healing strategy that accentuates the preservation of equilibrium and concord within the body.

Given this, Raman Sidhu played a key role in founding Life Aveda to present herbal remedies that augment internal healing and overall well-being. Ramandeep Sidhu set foot on her expedition in the herbal wellness industry three years ago when she Co- Founded Life Aveda with a fervent vision to proliferate the benevolence of Ayurveda across the globe. Her mission was to spotlight the untapped capability of Ayurveda, which embodies a comprehensive technique of healing. Raman's relentless exertions to foster natural healing have garnered her substantial recognition and ovation in the Ayurvedic realm. Below is an excerpt of Raman Sidhu's exclusive interaction with Women Entrepreneur magazine.

What motivated you to co-found Life Aveda? Tell us about the underlying idea behind starting to establish the company and its primary areas of specialization.

After reaching a point in my life where I had attained a certain degree of professional triumph and emotional stability, I contemplated ways to contribute to society. One day, while viewing a program featuring Bobbi Brown, who had sold her company and turned into a holistic practitioner, she shared a formula for turmeric milk. This instigated an epiphany in me - turmeric and curcumin are frequently used ingredients in our daily lives, so why not leverage their health benefits to aid others? Therefore, I aspired to delve into something captivating and relevant, given that personal wellbeing had become a significant concern for everyone.

"I encourage my team to Conduct in-depth research & come up with groundbreaking Ideas that are Currently non-existent in The market"

Moreover, with the outbreak of COVID-19, which promptly transformed our lives in 2020, I desired to create a company that implemented a comprehensive healthcare approach encompassing natural and herbal remedies that posed no side effects. My objective was to assist people and treat them naturally. It had always been ingrained in my mind that if I could aid someone in their treatment, it would be a remarkable achievement. This was the inception of my journey to co-establish Life Aveda, a holistic healthcare brand.

Tell us about the different products that Life Aveda has introduced in the market so far. What are your key focus areas in terms of driving the company’s growth?

At Life Aveda, we proffer a myriad of more than 130 medicines, categorized into three distinct segments. The initial segment encompasses generic medicines that can be procured without a prescription. The subsequent segment involves prescription-based medicines that concentrate on treating specific illnesses. Lastly, the third segment has supplement medicines that enhance the efficacy of general as well as disease-specific medicines.

What are the various duties you are required to manage every day? And what are the measures you take to promote the company's growth?

As a CEO or entrepreneur, I firmly believe that having a detailed understanding of all aspects of the company is crucial, and I ensure that I possess a diverse set of skills to achieve this. These include strategic thinking, goal-setting, and effective communication with my team. Leading by example is also paramount to me, and I prioritize self-discipline and management. Moreover, we have successfully blended Western and Ayurvedic herbs in many of our products, resulting in remarkable outcomes. I encourage my team to conduct in-depth research and come up with ground-breaking ideas that are currently non-existent in the market. In addition I also have my cosmetic brand called Kakumbh. Currently, I am focusing on launching a cosmetic brand that addresses the issue of harmful chemicals and metals in skincare products. As a result, our brand will provide natural and effective solutions for antiaging, anti-pigmentation, and anti-blemish concerns while prioritizing the well-being of our customers. Overall, I firmly believe in having a clear vision, mission, goals, and values for my organization, and I collaborate well with my team to achieve them.

Tell us about some of the key milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey.

I began my professional journey in the United States as a banker, where I excelled and received recognition as the top performer in my bank for three consecutive years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to leave my job and return to India. Fortunately, my skills and expertise were highly valued by the bank, and they made an exception for me, granting me a year's leave. Furthermore, after starting my own business, we received our first award within the first year, followed by another in the second year. Although these accolades are gratifying, what truly matters to me is the positive feedback and testimonials we receive from our customers. As an entrepreneur, I regularly ask my team about the feedback they receive from customers, as this serves as the true benchmark for our success.
