Kanchan Ahuja Motwani: A Visionary Digital Marketer Setting New Benchmarks In Terms Of Quality & Performance At Klicktheorem

Kanchan Ahuja Motwani
Co-Founder & COO, Klicktheorem

The rapid boost in the e-Commerce sector, social media as well as digitalization has positively impacted the digital marketing sector. While the traditional Indian marketing sector has been largely dependent on positive word of mouth as well as traditional media, digital marketing works through pay-per-click, social media marketing, SEO, and so on. After working for three and half years in the Digital Marketing sector, Kanchan Ahuja Motwani co-founded KlickTheorem along with her husband. After some initial struggle, the firm grew rapidly, thanks to its innovative and out-of-the-box marketing solutions. As its Co-Founder as well as COO, Kanchan has been taking care of technical work as well as people management flawlessly while creating a benchmark for quality and performance.

In an exclusive interview with Women Entrepreneur, Kanchan shares her early educational journey and experience, her accomplishments, the driving force behind her success, and much more.

Shed some light on your early educational journey and the prior industry experience that you bring to the table. What led you to co-found KlickTheorem? Tell us about the underlying idea behind the firm and its most unique features.

I hold a Master’s degree in Banking and Insurance, after completion of my Masters I worked for two years as a Research Analyst. However, I was always attracted to computers and knew that I was not written for that role of Research Analyst. After marriage, I moved to Gujarat & completed various Digital Marketing Courses and then I worked for some premium marketing agencies for three and a half years, which helped me become a better professional while providing state-of-the-art creativity to my clients. Being a choosy person myself also helps me understand my clients expectations.

It was always my dream to start an entrepreneurial venture where I can use my expertise and make clients happy. Working full-time in the digital marketing sector gave me enough knowledge and confidence, and ignited the spark inside me. There is a famous line that says that behind every successful man, there is a woman. However, in an era of equality and respect, I can proudly say that the unconditional support from my husband, in-laws as well as parents has helped me to pursue my passion which led to the foundation of KlickTheorem. Huge credit goes to my husband, a Chartered Accountant and the founder of KlickTheorem, who has been my source of energy as he pushed the entrepreneur inside me, and together, we started the firm two years back during the lockdown.

Initially, it was extremely hard to bring clients on board, as we were trying to gain clients on a platform where you need to build a good work profile with good history and a 100 percent job success rate. Finally, after much struggle, we were able to get some clients, and then after working from home as freelancers for six months, we finally started KlickTheorem.

What are the various roles and responsibilities you shoulder as the co-founder of KlickTheorem? What are some of the major challenges that you face in your current role and how do you overcome them?

As the co-founder and COO, I look into technical work and team management. My primary responsibilities include defining new goals, bringing sustainable ideas to the table & supplementing those, monitoring performance, and so on. However, being a startup, we have a team of dedicated members, but our roles are not confined to anything. My husband and I play a gamut of roles such as HR, Accounts, Sales, Technical admin, and so on.

"Don’t let others define you. Define yourself. Don’t compromise. You are all you’ve got"

As a marketer, I face several challenges daily. However, I consider them as the stepping stone to success. These challenges vary in terms of clients’ expectations, budget constraints, availability of resources, and non-performing assets. Even personal life and work-life balance has to be maintained. The late-night meetings, long discussions, and deadline reporting reviews are all part of these challenges. I practice spirituality to keep myself calm in all these situations. I owe my success to my Gurus.

In your opinion, what are some of the most significant milestones that you have achieved in your professional journey? What has been the driving force behind your success as a business leader?

As a firm, the most significant milestone that we have achieved has been earning the Google Partners Badge, something that every company wants to achieve, we were lucky to earn that at the very initial stage of running the firm. Some of the other milestones have been becoming a Facebook partner, earning the top-rated badge on several other platforms, and so on. However, the most satisfying milestone has been seeing our clients happy and satisfied with our deliverables.

Beyond my professional achievements, with the passing time, I have learned the ability of balancing work and my personal being, so that is also an achievement I have marked.

Behind my success, there has always been a team that has stood behind me. I have learned a lot from everyone around me, my parents from both sides, and most importantly, from my husband, who has been the most supportive of all. These people are the energy that flows in me. I remember once my guru told me that “Be like an ocean, absorb everything whatever comes to you and give diamonds in return” and that changed my complete outlook on life and helped me achieve everything I’ve dreamt of.

Drawing from your experience as a successful business leader, what would your advice be to young women and girls who also aspire to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

The thing women have yet to learn is nobody gives you power. You just take it. A woman has many faces- that of a wife, a mother, a daughter, but I believe that it is only when she is working towards something professionally that she can be truly herself. There is nothing that can stop you if you have that fire inside you.

Kanchan Ahuja Motwani, Co-Founder & COO, Klicktheorem

Apart from being the co-founder, Kanchan is also the COO at KlickTheorem. Using her profound experience in Digital Marketing, she takes care of technical department and people management as well as bringing sustainable ideas to the table. A strong follower of spirituality, she believes everyone creates their world with their own thoughts, so a strong belief in dreams & 100 percent efforts, can definitely lead you to success. Enjoying the journey much more than the end results.
