9 Indian Women-Led Startups That Raised Funding in August 2026

By: Ayushi Dutta, Senior Correspondent

A funding slowdown can test even the most resilient startup ecosystem, but August 2026 showed that India's entrepreneurial engine is far from losing steam. After a subdued July, investors returned with larger cheques across mobility, fintech, consumer brands, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure, restoring momentum to the broader ecosystem. This broad-based rebound underscored the resilience of India's early-stage and growth-stage financing pipeline alike, even as global venture sentiment remained cautious.

According to Entrackr data, Indian startups raised around $950 million-$1 billion (approximately ₹8,800-₹9,300 crore) across roughly 80–90 disclosed deals in August, a clear rebound from July. Weekly funding reflected this steady recovery: $383.5 million between 3 and 8 August, $151.5 million between 10 and 15 August, $198.33 million between 17 and 22 August, and $218.69 million between 24 and 29 August. The improvement stands out against July, when startups raised just $662 million (₹6,324 crore) across 85 deals, the second-lowest monthly total in over a year.

Investors backed businesses with clearer paths to scale as the market rebounded. Artificial intelligence, electric mobility, fintech, quick commerce, consumer brands, and food and beverage ventures remained the most active sectors, with growth-stage companies commanding some of the month's largest cheques.

Women-led Startups Funding Roundup August 2026

Women-led businesses shared meaningfully in this recovery. Nine disclosed women-founded and women-co-founded startups collectively raised approximately ₹783.7 crore in August 2026, spanning athleisure, mobility, home décor, paediatric healthcare, lending technology, spiritual commerce, skincare, quick-service restaurants, and hospital-led healthcare delivery.

Measured against the previous two months, the picture is more mixed than the overall ecosystem's rebound suggests. Women-led startups raised more than $167 million (over ₹1,400 crore) across 15 disclosed deals in June, before rising to roughly ₹2,030.5 crore across 14 deals in July, even as the broader market cooled sharply that month. August's ₹783.7 crore across nine deals marks a step down in absolute value from July's peak, though it comes alongside a wider ecosystem recovery; together, the three months point to sustained, if uneven, investor appetite for women-led ventures.

The funding mix also points to growing maturity. Several companies secured Series A and Series B capital, suggesting investors are increasingly backing women entrepreneurs beyond the early experimentation stage. This fresh capital will help these businesses expand into new cities, build physical infrastructure, strengthen technology, widen product portfolios, hire talent, and deepen distribution.

As Indian women-led ventures move from validation to expansion, the Women Entrepreneurs Review team has curated nine startups that raised funding in August 2026, spotlighting the founders, investors, funding rounds, and growth plans shaping their next phase.

The funding will help the company accelerate store expansion across key metropolitan markets. It will also strengthen its supply chain, central kitchen infrastructure, and technology for order management and delivery. With the capital, Benne can improve operational efficiency while building a larger national footprint.

These investments can help the platform build a wider digital ecosystem around religious services and reach users beyond its existing markets.

Asaya Raises ₹88 Crore in Series A Funding

Gurugram-based direct-to-consumer skincare brand Asaya raised ₹88 crore in Series A funding on 24 August 2026. RPSG Capital and OTP Ventures led the round, with participation from Huddle Ventures, Hyperscale Ventures and 72 Ventures.

Asaya can use the capital to widen its portfolio, increase its physical distribution and develop new products as it competes in India's rapidly expanding skincare market.

BlissClub Raises ₹160 Crore in Series B Funding

Bengaluru-based athleisure brand BlissClub raised ₹160 crore in a Series B round on 7 August 2026, making it one of the largest funding rounds among women-led startups during the month.

Minu Margeret, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BlissClub, founded the brand in 2020 to create functional activewear designed specifically for Indian women. Singularity AMC led the round, while existing investors Elevation Capital and Eight Roads Ventures increased their investments. Margeret and her partner Vidit Aatrey also invested personal capital. BlissClub has evolved from a digital-first activewear company into an omnichannel athleisure brand with more than 40 stores. The company has also entered menswear as it broadens its addressable market.

The fresh capital will accelerate offline retail expansion, product development, category expansion and hiring. The investment gives BlissClub the resources to deepen its presence across metropolitan and Tier I markets while continuing to build its online business.

Growth Funding Powers Healthcare Expansion

Even Healthcare Raises ₹208.2 Crore in Series B Funding

Gurugram-based healthtech company Even Healthcare raised ₹208.2 crore, approximately $22 million, in Series B funding between 26 and 29 August 2026. Khosla Ventures led the round, with participation from DLB Ventures and Simon Fiduciaria.

Matilde Giglio, Co-founder of Even Healthcare, helped build the company from a health membership platform into a hospital-led integrated healthcare delivery business. The company plans to deploy the capital towards building its own hospital and clinic infrastructure, entering additional metropolitan markets and strengthening its care-coordination technology.

The round represents the largest disclosed funding raised by a woman-led startup in August among the nine companies tracked in this list. It also highlights how investors are backing women-led businesses that have moved beyond technology-enabled services towards capital-intensive, integrated operating models.

What August's Funding Means for Women Entrepreneurs?

The nine startups raised a combined ₹783.7 crore during August, with the largest cheques going to Even Healthcare and BlissClub. Their funding demonstrates that women-led businesses are attracting capital across multiple stages rather than remaining concentrated solely in seed-stage fundraising.

The sectoral spread is equally significant. Women entrepreneurs secured capital across healthcare, fintech, mobility, consumer technology, skincare, athleisure, food, home décor and spiritual commerce. This diversity reflects the expanding range of businesses women founders are building in India's startup ecosystem.

August therefore did more than improve India's overall startup funding numbers. It demonstrated that the country's women entrepreneurs are increasingly raising the kind of capital required to scale ambitious businesses. As these companies convert funding into expansion, hiring, product innovation and stronger market presence, their journeys could further strengthen the case for sustained investment in women-led entrepreneurship across India.

Continuing the monthly funding series, Women Entrepreneurs Review tracks the latest capital raises by women-led startups across India. Watch this space for our September 2026 edition.
