15 Indian Women-Led Startups That Raised Funding in June 2026

By: Ayushi Dutta, Senior Correspondent

June emerged as one of the Indian startup ecosystem’s strongest funding months of 2026, with overall investments exceeding $2 billion. Weekly funding gathered pace throughout the month, culminating in more than $1.12 billion raised during the final week alone, driven largely by fintech giant CRED's approximately $900 million funding round.

Against this backdrop, women entrepreneurs continued to play a prominent role in India's funding landscape. During June 2026, 15 startups with women founders or co-founders announced funding rounds worth more than $167 million (over ₹1,400 crore) in disclosed capital, demonstrating their growing influence across India's innovation economy.

Sectoral Breakdown of June Fundraising

Artificial intelligence emerged as the most active sector by deal count in June, with startups such as Sarvam AI, Pramaana Labs, Sherlocks AI, Tringbox, and Rocket attracting fresh investments, while clean energy continued to draw significant late-stage capital through Hygenco. Consumer and D2C startups also maintained investor interest despite a selective funding environment, reflecting sustained confidence in scalable, brand-led businesses.

Looking specifically at women-led startups, consumer-focused businesses remained the dominant investment theme throughout the month. D2C food, nutrition, and wellness startups accounted for six of the 15 funding announcements, while investors also backed companies operating in enterprise AI, biotechnology, healthtech, climate technology, beauty and medical aesthetics, hospitality, fashion, and the creator economy.

The month's funding rounds saw participation from leading venture capital firms, including B Capital, Lightspeed, OrbiMed Advisors, Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, Chiratae Ventures, and Aavishkaar Capital, alongside strategic investors such as Nikhil Kamath, Nisaba Godrej, Anand Piramal, and Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office. Together, these investments reinforced investor confidence in businesses combining scalable business models with strong market potential.

Healthy Mix of Early-stage & Late-stage Deals

The funding activity reflected a healthy mix of emerging startups and scaling businesses. Seven of the 15 transactions came from pre-seed, seed, and early-stage rounds, highlighting continued investor confidence in young ventures. Meanwhile, larger Series B and Series C investments contributed the majority of capital raised, led by SolarSquare's $53 million Series C round, TruNativ's $30 million Series B investment, and Anveshan's $17.5 million (₹150 crore) Series B funding.
