Utsav, a Kolkata-based spiritual and devotional services platform, has raised Rs 36 crore in a Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. Existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Investments also participated in the round.
The latest investment takes Utsav’s total funding to Rs 42 crore. Earlier, the startup secured Rs 6.35 crore in January 2025.
The company plans to use the fresh funds to expand its temple partner network, upgrade its technology infrastructure, improve fulfillment operations, and grow its team to support its next stage of expansion.
Utsav was started by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De and Prajata Samanta to bring together devotees with temples, priests, scholars and acharya on a digital platform. It offers puja booking, puja consultation with priests, e-prasad delivery, puja consecration, and customised puja rituals.
The start-up is also targeting the global Indian population. The website enables devotees to be involved in religious practices and ceremonies at the various temples of India, even if they are located outside of India.
Sourajit Basu, Co-founder and CEO of Utsav, said “The platform is focused on making devotional experiences more accessible while preserving their authenticity and spiritual significance.”
In the coming 12-18 months, Utsav will continue to enhance its temple partnerships, service offerings, expand investments in personalization, content discovery, logistics and fulfillment.
Key Highlights:
- Utsav raised Rs 36 crore in Series A funding
- The funding will support expansion and technology upgrades
- The platform aims to serve more devotees in India and abroad
The company had previously announced its business growth after the last fundraising, which showed that since its last funding round (in February, 2025) the company's revenues have surged by eight times. To date, Utsav is serving around 2.5 lakh orders on its platform each month.
Utsav is based in India's flourishing spiritual-tech space and faces the competition of other names like Vama.app, AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, Astroyogi and DevDham. The latest investment will help the company grow its digital devotional services business and serve customers both locally and internationally.
Utsav’s platform currently connects devotees with more than 80 partner temples across India, offering access to pujas, rituals, consecrated prasad and other spiritual services. The company says it has served more than 10 lakh users through its platform.
The startup is also strengthening its digital offerings by providing personalised puja photos and videos, along with content and services designed to help devotees stay connected with religious practices remotely.
With the new funding, Utsav is positioned to further expand its network and improve its technology and fulfilment capabilities as it looks to serve a growing base of devotees in India and overseas.
