Uma Reddy Becomes First Woman President of 108-Year-Old FKCCI
On September 27, 2025, Uma Reddy acquired the position of president at Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), becoming the first woman to take such a post in the 108 years history of the organisation.
In a statement, the chamber said, “Since its founding by Sir M Visvesvaraya in 1916, FKCCI has been traditionally led by men. This is a landmark achievement.”
IMC Ladies' Wing Hosts 38th Women Entrepreneurs' Exhibition
In a historic event for Hyderabad, IMC Ladies' Wing hosted the 38th Women Entrepreneurs' Exhibition, which took place at the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre.
The two-day exhibition happened on 27—28 September, and saw women entrepreneurs from all over India showcasing various products in fashion, jewellery, lifestyle, and design.
Sania Mirza Named First Brand Ambassador for Allen Solly Woman
Allen Solly, a division of Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Limited (ABLBL), has appointed tennis player and international style ambassador Sania Mirza as the inaugural ambassador of their Allen Solly Woman brand. The collaboration intends to embody confidence, individuality, and self-expression in fashion.
Women Perform Sindur Khela Marking End of Durga Puja Across India
As the final chants of Durga Puja filled pandals across the country on Thursday, October 2, 2025, women in red-bordered white sarees gathered with plates of vermilion to perform a ritual as old as memory, Sindur Khela, making the culmination filled with devotion, color, and evolving meanings. Traditionally, a ritual in which married Bengali Hindu women smear vermilion on each other to wish for prosperity and marital bliss, Sindur Khela has evolved into a broader celebration of feminine power, solidarity, and cultural continuity.
Jayshree Ullal Emerges as India's Richest Professional Manager
Wealth creation in India is becoming more and more influenced by women entrepreneurs who have established companies and fortunes in their own way. Leading the pack is Jayshree Ullal, President and CEO of Arista Networks, who, as per the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025, has created the most wealth for herself out of all the self-made Indian women with a ₹50,170 crore net worth. She is acknowledged for her guidance in the success of one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent networking companies and thus a tech power house in the world.
Ad Rates Go Up for India vs Sri Lanka Women's World Cup Opener
The broadcaster stated that the last year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup reached double the audience of rival content genres over the same duration.
India will host Sri Lanka in the first match of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup on September 30. With the Women's Premier League (WPL) drawing more than 130 million viewers and with about ₹110–120 crore as ad revenues, advertiser demand and sponsorship request are at an all-time high.
