Jyothi Yarraji won gold in the women's 100m hurdles at the 2025 Taiwan Athletics Open, with a stellar time of 12.99 seconds. She edged out Japan's Asuka Terada (13.04s), securing a silver medal, and Chisato Kiyoyama (13.10s), who also won a bronze medal. She surged ahead in the final 20 meters, showcasing her powerful finish, making her the only athlete to finish under 13 seconds in the final. Jyothi's victory adds to her growing legacy, having previously won gold at the Asian Championships in South Korea. Her national record stands at 12.78 seconds.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin, declared three key initiatives worth $409.79 million in collaboration with the World Bank, on women empowerment and blue economy sustainability. This was announced at the inaugural ceremony of the renovated Global Business Centre in Chennai which facilitates the World Bank operations in 189 countries.

A major focus would be the Women Employment and Security (WE-SAFE) Project to get more women into work, especially in high-growth non-agricultural sectors. The state has allocated ₹1,185 crores for the five-year period to increase employment opportunities while creating safe environments and support for women at work.

Prince William, Prince of Wales, has bestowed the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) upon Chanel's global chief executive officer, Leena Nair. POSH Act Benefits to Be Extended to Female Domestic Workers: Kerala Women's Commission

P. Sathidevi, chairperson of the Kerala Women's Commission, announced that the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 will soon provide protections for female domestic workers. She said this on Thursday at the PWD Rest House during the first session of a state-level POSH workshop organized by the Kerala Women's Commission.

Rs 193 Crore Approved for Women-Centric Infrastructure at Tata Electronics Hub in Kolar

Under the State Capital Investments Scheme, the Central Government has approved ₹193 crore to support the construction of infrastructure for female employees at Tata Electronics' manufacturing plant in the Kolar district of Karnataka's Narasapura industrial area. The money will be utilized to build necessary water supply systems in the industrial area and neighboring villages, as well as working women's hostels.
