SILab Ukraine Offers Free Business Training to Women

SILab Ukraine Women’s Entrepreneurship Program is a free 4 day program designed specifically to assist Ukrainian women in Ivano-Frankivsk region to take concrete steps towards entrepreneurship. It provides assistance to women who plan to start their own business and enhance their business model to expand their businesses ventures.

The core of the program is built around educating for women entrepreneurs. Program participants not only learn about the basic concepts of business but also apply the acquired knowledge to their business ideas. They also receive expert advice to achieve their goals, overcome business obstacles and develop specific actions that will allow them to move forward successfully.

Another key aspect of the workshop is the creation of individual business plan. With expert’s help, the participants can outline their plans, target audience and the business opportunities to develop an actionable plan. Peer learning allows participants exchange of views and establish contact with other female entrepreneurs.

The selected finalists are given access to microgrants that can be helpful when starting up a business or developing an existing one. With the help of skills and leadership development and mentoring, business planning, peer interaction and the possibility of getting financial assistance, SILab Ukraine aims to assist in transforming ideas into sustainable businesses.

The program offers practical exposure during regarding development and management of a sustainable business. This includes the generation and validation of business ideas leaning business planning, market research, customer analysis, and the process of MVP creation which allows them to validate their business concepts.

The programme also touches on financial modeling, legal issues, taxation, sales planning, marketing, and acquiring customers to ensure that learners have a holistic view of building a sustainable business. Women learn about engaging stakeholders and resource mobilization in addition to writing grant proposals and locating funding sources. Throughout the programme, business consultants provide expert advice to help learners assess their ideas and overcome any obstacles.

The participants also determine what resources they will need in order to run their enterprises and examine potential funding sources. The business plans undergoes evaluation in the microgrant selection process, hence becoming an integral part of the funding process.

The program is designed for women living in Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine and is interested in establishing, developing or enhancing her business ventures. It is especially aimed at women who are socially or economically vulnerable. It targets internally displaced women, women from host community, wives, mothers and daughters of military or former soldiers. The program also accepts applications from relatives of victims of war, poor women with children, mothers of children with disability, mothers of many children, and single mothers.

Women entrepreneurs benefit by becoming better prepared and more confident in decision-making by incorporating skill development, guidance from experts, networking, and possible funding avenues.
