Women Led Startups that are Disrupting the Digital Industry

Running a successful tech startup requires a lot of hard work, dedication and most importantly a set of specific skills. Women led startups in the tech industry are coming to the forefront, as more and more female tech entrepreneurs are taking over the initiatives and launching their own companies. The tech world have been appreciating the perspectives and unique ideas certain women leaders have been bringing to the table. In many cases, women in the digital tech industry have outperformed their male competitors. The previous decade – 2010-2019, witnessed the rise of several successful women led companies that redefined the India tech and digital industry.

Here is a list of some of the successful women led tech startups in India:-

YourStory Media Pvt.Ltd – Shradha Sharma

YourStory is India's top media technology platform dedicated to entrepreneurs to champion and promote their entrepreneurial ecosystem. Born and brought up in Patna, the founder Shradha Sharma opened up YourStory as a blog while on her work back in 2008. Applying all the business practices she learned from T.V, Newspapers and her work experience earned from working with The Times of India and CNBC TV 18, Shradha was able to provide a platform for young entrepreneurs who were not able to voice their side of things. ShopClues.com – Radhika Ghai Aggarwal

The e-commerce website was founded by Radhika Ghai Aggarwal back in 2011, and it is currently the fastest growing and largest fully managed online market space in India. As a founder, Radhika Aggarwal had over a decade and a half experience in various industrial sectors like retail, fashion & lifestyle, advertising, and public relations. CultureAlley - Pranshu Bhandari

CultureAlley was launched in the year 2012, by Pranshu Bhandari along with her husband as a platform for English speakers to learn other languages. Mobikwik – Upasana Taku

Mobikwik is a user-independent financial service platform founded in 2009 by Upasana Taku. The online platform has grown exponentially in recent years.  It has a network of over 3 million direct merchants, and 107 million users and records over 1 million transactions in a day. Mobikwik makes payment easier in mobile phones. From her early childhood, Upasana had been a very bright student. After completing her education in Management Science and Engineering she joined HSBC in San Diego and later she joined PayPal which helped her to understand the online digital payment system better. She utilized her experience she earned in setting up Mobikwik.

SHEROES – Sairee Chahal

SHEROES is the world's largest women's community online platform. The online platform and SHEROES app offer resources and career destination for professional women. The online platform was initiated by Sairee Chahal who has immense experience in the entrepreneurial journey. Having already founded a company named Fleximoms, Sairee Chahal has proven to be a serial entrepreneur and an inspiration for many. She was voted as the most powerful women in Indian business back in the year 2012.
