Nepal Secures Historic Spot in ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers

Nepal has become history by earning a berth in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers for the first time. The top four sides from the Global Qualifiers will gain entry to the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England.
In a competitive match played today at Thailand's Terdthai Cricket Ground, the UAE won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 114 runs for seven wickets in their 20 allotted overs. UAE skipper Esha Oza was the standout scorer with 39 runs, while 21 was contributed by Tirth Sathish, 20 by Heena Hotachandani, and 12 by Labhnya Keni. Nepal's Manisha Upadhyaya was the star bowler with four wickets. Kavita Kunwar and Rajmati Airi supported with one and two wickets respectively.
Nepal replied by chasing 115 runs in 19.3 overs, losing five wickets. Skipper Indu Barma led the way with an unbeaten 30 runs. Rubina Chhetri added 23, Samjhana Khadka contributed 21, Puja Mahato scored 13, and Ruby Podar stayed not out on 6. The UAE bowling unit had Michel Both, Suraksha Kote, Vaishnavi Mahesh, and skipper Esha Oza each scoring a wicket.
Simultaneously, in the Super 3 match, Thailand also qualified for the Global Qualifiers after winning over UAE by 54 runs. Nepal will now play Thailand on Tuesday in their last Super 3 match.
