Mahindra & LOreal India Open All-Women Warehouse in Indore

• Mahindra Logistics and L’Oréal India have launched a fully women-operated warehouse in Indore
• The women will handle all end-to-end warehouse operations
• The program aims to increase the involvement of women in the logistics workforce

Mahindra Logistics collaborated with L’Oréal India to create an entirely female-run warehouse in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The warehouse is an important step forward in participation in the workplace, with women responsible for total warehouse operations; it is a significant move towards gender balance and broadening areas in which women operate in logistics.

This promotes larger structural changes in logistics, putting women at the core of critical operational functions and providing them with responsibilities that impact business operations directly. Additionally, this creates representation in a space where women are underrepresented.

Furthermore, the warehouse is a key distribution point for Central India, aiding in the ideal distribution of goods throughout markets such as Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Singrauli, Sagar, Ratlam, Bina, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Satna, Rewa, Shahdol, Betul, Harda, Damoh, Shivpuri, Neemuch and Khargone.

Additionally, it provides regional connectivity through quicker replenishment cycles, reduced transit time and consistent delivery service of the L’Oréal portfolio. Management is completed through Mahindra Logistics warehouse management system (WMS), granting visibility, accuracy and efficient workflows in real-time. The WMS is also interconnected with L’Oréal distribution, to provide strong inventory control and continuity of services.
