Odisha's Women-led SHGs Highlight State's Success at IITF 2025

Odisha Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair 2025 at Bharat Mandapam is showcasing enterprise development, market expansion, and cross-state business collaboration.

Mission Shakti and ORMAS, on behalf of the Government of Odisha, are highlighting the growing rural entrepreneurship ecosystem of the state.

They are participating with the objective of positioning Odisha as a major contributor to a self-reliant India in consonance with the aspiration of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

The stalls have recorded a sale of more than 13 lakh rupees in nine days, besides business dealings with different government departments, private companies, and international buyers.

The pavilion has six ORMAS stalls and four Mission Shakti stalls displaying and selling handicrafts made by women's Self Help Groups. Craft making demonstrations are being held on a dedicated platform on site.

At the ORMAS stalls, one can see gourd-based utility and decor items by Prerana SHG of Rayagada, dokra craft by Jai Jagannath SHG of Dhenkanal, lac jewelry by Nilagiri Lacquer PG of Balasore, traditional Odia sweets including chhenapoda by Krishna Chhenapoda of Nayagarh, tussar handloom textiles by Gopalpur Tussar Handloom PE of Jajpur, and coir-based decorative items and toys made by Utkal Coir of Puri.

The Mission Shakti stalls are showcasing pattachitra art by Maa Bhuasuni SHG, Raghurajpur, Puri; golden grass and sabai grass products by Siba Parvati Golden Grass group, Kendrapara; paddy craft by Dhanalaxmi SHG, Nabarangpur; and paper mache items by Sri Jagannath SHG, Anandapur, Keonjhar.

ORMAS stalls have recorded sales above seven lakh rupees from November 14 to 22, while the Mission Shakti stalls have achieved almost six lakh rupees. A wide range of gourd craft products has drawn domestic and international visitors in large numbers.

The Prerana SHG from Rayagada has also had commercial discussions with Rudrashil Products of New Delhi. Senior officials from various states, ministries, and business organizations have visited the pavilion to explore opportunities for production and marketing of the displayed products.
