Aiming for a strong performance in the European leg of the FIH Pro League, the Indian women’s hockey team departed from Bengaluru to Amsterdam on the morning of May 28. The team will train in Amsterdam until June 8, after which they will travel to London to face Australia on June 14 and 15, followed by matches against Argentina on June 17 and 18.

The squad will then travel to Antwerp on June 19 in order to play Belgium on June 21 and 22. On June 28 and 29, two matches against China will wrap up the European tour in Berlin.

Because of the opposition's strength and the chance to hone tactics during the Amsterdam training camp, Captain Salima Tete called this leg of the tournament "crucial." The team's recent performance in the Bhubaneswar leg, where they held world No. 1 Netherlands to a 2-2 draw and earned a bonus point in the shootout, has given them confidence and motivation, vice-captain Navneet Kaur added.

A series of friendlies against Australia A and the Hockeyroos earlier this month in Perth, Australia, gave the team invaluable match practice as they tried out new lineup combinations in anticipation of this European challenge.
