HCCB, Telangana Govt to Support 1,000 Women Entrepreneurs through Mahila Shakti Canteens

- Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) entered into an MoU with the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Telangana Government
- The initiative will make the operations of over 100 Mahila Shakti Canteens in the state more robust
- More than 1,000 women entrepreneurs will be empowered through the program
Hindustan Coca-Cola (HCCB) beverages have signed a memo of understanding (MOU) with the Rural Poverty Elimination Society (Serp), Trengano Government, to update more than 100 Mayila Shakti canteens.
The program will raise more than 1,000 women entrepreneurs, providing training in financial literacy, digital skills, sales and retail management.
The MoU was facilitated by Divya Devarajan, IAS, CEO of SERP, and Shweta Punetha, Head of CSR, HCCB, and was signed in the presence of other senior officials.
Under the MoU, HCCB will run CSR programmes related to women's entrepreneurial and living skills in partnership with NGOs and SERP will drive them in relation to state initiatives and community mobilisation and selection of beneficiaries.
Divya Devarajan went to the meeting saying:
"Mahila Shakti Canteens symbolizes more than just the financial independence and economic empowerment of women. They give a space for self-confidence, entrepreneurship and self-efficacy of rural women. With the help of our HCCB partner, women will gain training and skills to be entrepreneurs."
HCCB plans to provide qualification contributions in areas such as financial literacy, digital literacy, sales, marketing and retail as part of its RSE Shine project
