Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), District Level Centre for Women, Anantnag today organised a one day awareness camp on women centric schemes at Lidroo Pahalgam.
These centres will serve as a link between village, block and state level in facilitating women centric schemes and also give foothold for BBBP scheme at the district level.
The event was presided over by District Programme Officer, Nodal Officer MSK, Peerzada Zahoor, and was attended by ICDS, MSK, and resource persons from line departments, as well as a large number of local women of various ages.
In his address to the audience, the DPO stated that the government offers a variety of programmes for women, adolescent girls, and female children to help with skill and socioeconomic development, health and nutrition, digital literacy, and financial empowerment.
He explained that the goal of such camps is to provide basic information to potential women beneficiaries at their homes and to ensure their enrollment in various beneficiary-oriented, welfare, and self-employment programmes.

The participants applauded the organisers for their initiative and hoped that similar events would continue to benefit women living in remote and far-flung areas.

It will serve as a conduit for rural women to approach the government in order to receive their entitlements, as well as empower them through training and capacity building.
