In recent years, homes have begun evolving into intelligent, sustainable spaces rather than just a physical place. How do you see this transformation shaping the future of home energy?
At Schneider Electric, we believe Indian homes are rapidly transforming into intelligent, energy-efficient environments that actively support better living. This shift is driven by rising awareness around safety, sustainability, and convenience.
Through solutions like our Wiser Home Automation system and Miluz ZeTa AQI-enabled switches, we are enabling families to monitor energy use, optimise appliances, and maintain healthier indoor spaces. Our focus on localized innovation and an omnichannel presence ensures that smart living is accessible not just in metros, but across Tier II and III towns as well. We see the future of home energy rooted in connected, data-driven homes that empower every household to live smarter and consume energy responsibly.
In your experience, are people becoming more conscious about usage of home energy? What kind of changes are you noticing in their everyday habits?
We are seeing a significant rise in energy consciousness among homeowners. Today, 75% of consumers report actively using less energy, driven by both rising costs and a growing desire to live more sustainably. This awareness is shaping everyday habits—families are choosing energy-efficient appliances, reducing standby consumption, and relying more on smart controls. We also see increased adoption of tools like smart meters, connected switches, and our Wiser Home system, which give users real-time visibility into where energy is being used or wasted. As people gain clearer insights into their consumption patterns, they are making more intentional choices, contributing to a meaningful shift toward efficient, sustainable living.
How is Schneider Electric simplifying energy management for homeowners and making it safer and more sustainable?
At Schneider Electric, we are simplifying home energy management by making it smarter, safer, and more sustainable. Our new AI-powered feature in the Wiser Home app learns from user habits, real-time weather, dynamic tariffs, and even solar production to automatically optimise energy-hungry loads like EV chargers and water heaters. Homeowners stay fully in control, with the ability to pause or override schedules at any moment. We also ensure strong data privacy by keeping all information secure and within our ecosystem.
When you talk about making energy management simpler, what does that really mean for a homeowner? Could you share how Schneider’s solutions bring that idea to life?
At Schneider Electric, simplifying energy management means giving homeowners intuitive, intelligent control over how their homes consume energy, without complexity. With our Wiser and integrated switch solutions, families can monitor consumption, automate appliances, and improve indoor health with just a tap.
Our systems work quietly in the background to optimise usage, ensure safety, and reduce waste, while keeping users fully in charge. Features like AQI-enabled switches, integrated app control, and automated energy scheduling help households make smarter decisions effortlessly. By combining smart design, real-time insights, and easy-to-use digital tools, we are enabling every home to become more efficient, safer, and sustainably powered—without demanding technical expertise from the homeowner.
As homes get smarter and greener, do you see the idea of energy independence wherein homes generate and control their personal electricity -will soon become mainstream?
At Schneider Electric, we believe energy independence will steadily move into the mainstream as homes become smarter and greener. With the rise of solar, home batteries, and AI-driven Home Energy Management Systems, households are evolving from passive consumers to active “prosumers” who can generate, store, and control their own electricity. Intelligent systems like Wiser optimise when appliances run, maximise the use of self-generated solar energy, and reduce dependence on the grid. As digitalisation, electrification, and distributed energy resources accelerate, we see a future where homes are more resilient, efficient, and self-sufficient. Energy independence is no longer a distant idea—it is rapidly becoming an achievable reality for modern Indian households.
As a leader experienced in driving change in this sector, what guidance would you offer to fellow leaders aiming to make an impact in the energy field?
A major challenge in advancing these new technologies is ensuring that comprehensive and integrated products are available. Technology leaders must focus on developing straightforward, scalable solutions that incorporate open protocols to support interoperability and adaptability for the future. Leaders in the technology space, need to focus on ease of use and raising awareness on energy usage and environmental impact.
Schneider provides a wide range of offerings through Wiser and KNX, with intelligent systems designed to optimize appliance use, boost self-consumption of solar energy, and decrease reliance on the grid. As digitalization, electrification, and distributed energy resources continue to grow, we envision homes becoming increasingly resilient, efficient, and self-reliant. Achieving energy independence is quickly transforming from a distant ambition into a practical goal for today’s Indian households.
