Vamnicom which is India's apex co-op institute tied up with Laxmi Bai Mahila Nagari Sahakari Bank and organized a half-day awareness and training program on "Women Nutrition and Empowerment" last week in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The event was held especially for the female farmers and cooperative bank members, they were provided guidance about their health and nutrition under the G20 theme by Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, Vamnicom, Pune.
About 150 women participated in the event who belonged to various areas of Gwalior city. The participants were addressed by Smt. Meena Mudha, Women's health expert and Smt. Maya Singh, ex-minister and MP was also the chief guest.
Smt. Meena spoke about the iron and calcium deficiencies in women that lead to Anemia whereas Smt. Maya stated about women's empowerment and their contributions to the welfare of society.
Smt. Alka Srivastav said about the efforts made by Laxmi Bai Mahila Cooperative Bank to support women. Dr. Pallavi Ingale briefed about the agenda of the event. Along with them Mr. Amit Mudgal (ICM, Bhopal), Dr. Priyadarshni Srivastava, Dr. Veena Pradhan, and Smt. Anjali Batra was also present at the event and made it a successful one.
