Veena KrishnaMurthy Joins AI Shirawi FM as DGM

Al Shirawi Facilities Management has promoted Veena KrishnaMurthy as its Deputy General Manager in addition to her existing role as the Head of Human Resources. In her dual roles, she will make sure that the human resource strategy of the organization is being executed while helping in its operations and future growth strategies.

Veena has been associated with the Al Shirawi Group for over a decade now and has been instrumental in building a strong human capital strategy.

As Head of Human Resources from 2022 onwards, she spearheaded various initiatives related to talent management, organizational development, leadership development, employee engagement, workforce planning, and human resource transformation.

Commenting on her new role, Veena stated. “This transition is particularly meaningful to me. Moving from leading Human Resources into a ​Business ​Leadership role is not simply a change in title​, it is a reflection of an organisation that believes leadership is defined not by function, but by purpose, capability, and the willingness to create impact wherever it is needed.”

She added, “As I begin this new chapter, I do so with the same curiosity and humility that I brought on my very first day. My purpose remains unchanged, to serve people, contribute to the business, create meaningful impact, and continue learning every single day.”

Prior to this, she worked as Senior Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Manager where she assisted business leaders in managing over 1,600 employees through various change management and organizational re-structuring projects.

Veena had earlier worked at London Business Group as HR Manager, where she set up the human resource department for the hospitality and restaurant divisions of the firm. Her duties involved developing human resource strategies, creating policies and procedures, improving talent management initiatives, and managing human resource requirements of an employee population of 300+.

Prior to this, she was an HR Consultant at Jairamdas Group, providing guidance to business executives in developing HR policies, workforce planning, performance management, organizational development, and engaging employees. She gained invaluable consulting experience in designing people practices for business transformation and excellence.

During the earlier stage of her career, Veena was engaged as Human Resources Development and Learning & Development Specialist with organizations like SNTTA Cargo and NADIA Training, Recruitment and Management Consultants, which allowed her to acquire expertise in areas of recruitment, training of employees, organizational development, and capacity building in the workforce.

Veena started off her career as a Lecturer with Oxford College of Pharmacy where she taught various courses related to pharmacy and was also involved in industry-oriented programs that helped build bridges between academic institutions and corporations. She possesses a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management (MBA in HR) from the Indian Institute of Business Management & Studies, in addition to her extensive industry experience in HR management.
