UPSC 2024 Results Declared: 5 Women Candidates Secure rank Among Top 10

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, with 1,009 candidates recommended for various prestigious services. A reserve list of 230 candidates was maintained. The final results are expected in April or May 2026, following the completion of the Personality Test/Interview stage.

The results announced on April 22, 2025, once again saw a surge in women excelling in the prestigious examination, with female candidates securing the top two ranks. Shakti Dubey from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, achieved All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 after seven years of dedicated preparation, and Harshita Goyal claimed the second spot with All India Rank 2 in her third attempt at the UPSC exam. In addition to this, Shah Margi Chirag, Komal Punia, and Aayushi Bansal secured AIR 4, AIR 6, and AIR 7, respectively.

According to a statement released, 28 per cent of all the recommended candidates are women, where 5 candidates are from the top 10 and 11 candidates are from the top 25 rank-holders.

The 1,009 candidates who secured the examination will be recommended for various appointments in esteemed services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services (Group A and B).

AIR 1 Shakti Dubey explains her determination and dedication, noting, "There was never a day when I did not study. There may be days when I have studied for four to five hours. But there was never a day when I did not study at all. So this has been a constant thing." Meanwhile, AIR 2 Harshita Goyal found her own pattern, mentioning, " I didn't have any fixed schedule for studying. I found my own pattern to make it work, and that is what students should try and do, I think."
