- Meta has named Nicole Tan as its new Country Director for Singapore
- Her service will commence officially on June 2, when she will oversee Meta's operations and strategic decisions in the nation
Nicole Tan will become Meta's new Country Director for Singapore on June 2, the firm said. The April 22 announcement highlights the firm's commitment to growing its presence in one of Southeast Asia's most advanced technology markets.
Nicole, now serving more than 25 years in the job, will lead initiatives on driving digital innovation across sectors using AI technologies to create new opportunities for growth, as well as aiding Singapore's development of the digital economy.
Recognizing Singapore as a regional innovation and collaboration hub for technology, Meta recognizes Nicole's leadership as a strategic asset. According to Meta's Vice-President for Southeast Asia and Emerging Markets, Benjamin Joe, "Nicole has a deep understanding of what businesses and communities across the region need to thrive in today's digital world."
She will be replacing Damian Kim, who will be taking up a new role in Meta's Asia-Pacific leadership team. Nicole is familiar with Meta — she once headed the company's Malaysian operations for almost a decade. While there, she spearheaded cross-sector collaboration, amplified digital transformation, and promoted women's representation in technology and marketing. She has also received extensive accolades for her work in mentorship and talent development throughout the region.
Before she joined Meta, she was a senior marketing leader in both Malaysia and China, which provided her with a strong regional outlook. Expressing her excitement about the new role, Nicole said: “Singapore is a vibrant market at the forefront of Southeast Asia’s digital transformation. I’m excited to work with the team and help more people and businesses harness the power of technology to grow.”
