UPES Dehradun introduces The Fourth Shakti scholarship program for women students
By: WE Staff | Tuesday, 21 February 2023
According to a formal announcement, the renowned multidisciplinary institution UPES, located in Dehradun, has started its fourth year of dedication to female education through the "Shakti" scholarship program. It states that female students would receive up to 30% tuition price scholarships based on their performance on the class 12 board examinations. It said that female students have to get grades of at least 60% to qualify for the "Shakti" award.
Also, female students from Uttarakhand and other parts of India can pursue higher education at UPES in a variety of subjects, including engineering, computer science, law, health science, media, business, design, and liberal studies, thanks to the "Shakti" scholarship.
Almost 6000 female students in India, including those in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand, have been granted the "Shakti" scholarship by UPES since 2020. A student at UPES named Yashasvi Tiwari says the financial aid she received via the "Shakti" scholarship has greatly aided her and made it simpler for her to pursue her aspirations of attending college.
In addition to "Shakti," female students who match the requirements may also apply for additional scholarship programs at UPES. Students from Uttarakhand who are female may apply for domicile scholarships. For women who succeed in one of these activities—cricket, football, athletics, shooting, chess, or table tennis—UPES offers sports scholarships under "Project Vijaya." Under "Project Jyoti," female students from socioeconomically disadvantaged groups can apply for freeships. These freeships cover both the cost of the lodging and the tuition.
