- Kavita previously led HR strategy and Organizational Transformation at United Breweries
- Move to support Thermax’s growth and sustainability goals
Indian energy and environment solutions group Thermax has appointed Kavita Singh as its new Group Chief Human Resources Officer (GCHRO) to bolster the leadership team as the company expands into its global operations and sustainability business programs. It was approved by the company's board recently and will come into effect from May 25, 2026.
Kavita Singh joins Thermax group from United Breweries where she led the Human Resource Strategy and Organization Transformation for over 5 years. The transfer happens at a time when companies of all types are becoming more focused on leadership development, workforce transformation and talent management due to the fast pace of technological and business transformation.
As Group CHRO, Singh will be responsible for Thermax's human resources strategy at the group level in its domestic and international operations. “Her hire is a testament to the company's commitment to building a more engaged and talented workforce, establishing leadership succession, and fostering future-ready capabilities,” say industry experts. Thermax is established in over 90 countries and has a significant footprint in the energy transition, clean energy, water treatment and environmental technologies.
Under the leadership of Ashish Bhandari as the Managing Director & CEO, Thermax has been relentlessly working on innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.
The company has been actively pursuing new areas including renewables, H2, biofuels and AI for industrial technologies. Leaders' roles in HR are increasingly strategic, as organizations seek engineering, sustainability, and advanced technology experts, analysts say.
Industry observers attribute Singh's role to the fact that large business firms are giving more weight to HR leaders in business strategy and business transformation.
Today, HR is playing a pivotal role in shaping organizational culture, leveraging digital learning, implementing diversity programs and fostering future talent resilience as companies work through the challenges of automation, AI usage and evolving employee needs.
Experts attribute this to a company like Thermax positioning itself to grow its leadership ecosystem for future growth in the rapidly changing global business landscape.
