Aussie Women's Cricket Team Scores Mammoth 338/7; Defeat India
The India Women vs. Australia Women ODI cricket match took place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, 2 January 2024. This was the Australia Women's 3 ODI Series, 2023–2024, the third ODI played in India. The Australian Women secured a winning position on all three ODIs. India lost to Australia by 190 runs.
PM Modi Launches Women's Empowerment Campaign in Kerala
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a major women's empowerment convention held by the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state branch in Thrissur, central Kerala, in a significant political move. The event, dubbed 'Sthree Shakthi Modikkoppam' (Empowered Women with Modi), intends to congratulate the Prime Minister on the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill through both Houses of Parliament.
40% of Women Employees unaware of POSH Act Finds Report
A report by Walchand Plus reveals 40 per cent of working women in the workplace are unaware of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act's protective measures, highlighting the urgent need for a transformative approach.
According to the report, only 42 per cent of workers had a complete understanding of the POSH Act.
The research suggests that employees are not completely aware of the Act's provisions, and need better knowledge and guidance about the provisions of the Act.
V G Sakthikumar Awarded as 'Committed Leader for Women Empowerment'
At the CII Excon 2023 in Bangalore, V G Sakthikumar, the Managing Director and Chairman of Schwing Stetter India, received the "Committed Leader for Women Empowerment" award.
Women's empowerment in the workplace and gender equality have been actively promoted by Schwing Stetter India. 28 per cent of women are employed on the shop floor at the company's recently opened Global Manufacturing Hub as part of its effort to promote gender equality and women's empowerment.
Women to Hold 45% Asset under Management by 2030: AIB Report
The report titled "The Future is Female," which was commissioned by AIB, predicts that by 2030, women will control 45 per cent of the assets under management. Compared to the current percentage of women holding assets under management, this represents a significant increase. The study emphasizes the value of gender diversity in the financial industry and how it can result in more effective performance and better decision-making.
Jharkhand to host FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers 2024
Jharkhand is set to host the FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 from 13 to 19 January 2024, featuring eight global teams, including India, competing for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The prestigious event, held at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, is expected to attract 5,000 spectators from all over the nation. Initially, the tournament was supposed to be held in China but after the China Women's team directly qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the location was moved to India.
