Tech Education Minister Reviews Fee Waiver for Women Students in Pune
Pune's Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, took proactive steps to implement the fee waiver for girls announced by the Mahayuti government. The step aims to support women’s education and promote gender equality in higher and technical education.
Chandrakant Patil, Pune's Higher and Technical Education Minister, conducted an unannounced inspection at Abasaheb Garware College to assess the implementation of the fee waiver scheme for girls. He plans to conduct similar impromptu visits to 100 colleges across the state.
TATA WPL 2025: RCB Maintaining their Winning Streak; Defeat DC by 8 Wickets
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 4 of the Women's Premier League 2025, maintaining their winning streak during the TATA WPL 2025 campaign. The Smriti-led RCB chased down DC's score of 141/10 in just 16.2 overs at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
Captain stylish, Smriti showcased her dominance with her bat, scoring the highest 81 runs off 47 balls in partnership with Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who scored 42 off 33 balls. Team RCB's bowlers also maintained great prowess, as Renuka Singh Thakur and Georgia Wareham took three wickets each, restricting DC from registering a big total.
India all set to Launch Cancer Vaccine for Women This Year
A vaccine to combat cancers affecting women will be available in the next five to six months, with girls aged 9 to 16 eligible for the shot, announced Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav on Tuesday. Speaking at a press conference, the Union Minister of State for Health, Family Welfare, and Ayush (Independent Charge) shared that the vaccine’s research is nearly complete, and clinical trials are currently in progress.
BJP's Rekha Gupta set to Take Oath as Delhi chief Minister
Rekha Gupta, the BJP's Chief Minister-elect of Delhi, is set to take the oath of office today on 20 February, alongside six cabinet ministers. This marks the party's return to power in the capital after nearly 27 years, with a grand swearing in ceremony planned at Ramlila Maidan.
Rekha will become the fourth woman to hold the Chief Minister's position in Delhi, following the path of Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi. She secured a decisive victory in the Shalimar Bagh seat, defeating AAP's Bandana Kumari and Congress's Parveen Kumar Jain by a margin of 29,595 votes.
Over 40% of Attendees at Mahakumbh are Women, finds Report
The Mahakumbh 2025 is experiencing a significant increase in female participation, with over 40 per cent of attendees being women, particularly young women aged 18-35 attending independently. According to a press release issued by the UP government, the event saw participation from over 55 crore attendees. The record number of women participating in the spiritual event represents an unprecedented shift in gender representation at the world's largest spiritual gathering.
