Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 4 of the Women's Premier League 2025, maintaining their winning streak during the TATA WPL 2025 campaign. The Smriti-led RCB chased down DC's score of 141/10 in just 16.2 overs at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
Captain stylish, Smriti showcased her dominance with her bat, scoring the highest 81 runs off 47 balls in partnership with Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who scored 42 off 33 balls. Team RCB's bowlers also maintained great prowess, as Renuka Singh Thakur and Georgia Wareham took three wickets each, restricting DC from registering a big total.
Captain Smriti won the toss, putting Meg Lanning and DC in to bat first. With a subtle start, DC put forward its power players as openers, but the tables turned as Renuka's delivery sent Shafali Verma back to the pavilion for a golden duck.
Soon after, captain Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues took charge, completing a 50-run stand and reaching the powerplay. Despite Jemimah's boundaries and sixes, Richa Ghosh's smart stumping ended her game at 34 off 22 balls. RCB's bowlers took charge and secured continuous wickets of experienced players like Meg, Marizanne, Jess, Sarah, and other lined-up players. DC was bowled out for 141 at 19.3 overs.
The fire-batter of this match, skipper Smriti, opened the second innings with a single run, followed by hitting 10 boundaries and three sixes with a strike rate of 172.34. She smashed the fastest fifty of TATA WPL 2025 in just 27 deliveries. While maintaining her fearless hits, her partnership with Danni notched 102/0 in just 10 overs. Danni was caught by Arundhati Reddy while Shikha Pandey stopped Smriti, but Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh managed to finish the match on a winning note for RCB in 16.2 overs.
