The Standard Launches India GCC; Mohua S to Lead as Country Head

The Standard, a US provider of insurance, retirement and investment products, has announced the opening of a Global Capability Center in India, called StanCorp Global Services India (The Standard India).

According to the firm, The Standard India will provide high value jobs, support tech transformation, foster innovation and add to the organization’s long-term growth.

The Standard has named Mohua Sengupta a senior vice president and country head for India. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in banking, financial services and information technology, and previously led the GCC for Novartis India and held senior positions at 3i Infotech, ITC Infotech, IGATE, Mphasis, Accenture, Wipro and the Royal Bank of Canada.

"Her considerable expertise and experience are a good fit with The Standard's culture, and I know she will support scaling The Standard's US business," said Greg Chandler, executive vice president of Information Technology for The Standard.

Mohua will be responsible for operations in Bengaluru and Pune and be accountable for financial, compliance, and regulatory duties. She will also manage all employees of The Standard India.

She stated she is excited to join the organization during a time of rapid growth and noted that the new India center will allow the company access to specialized talent who will provide effective solutions and help them grow for the long term.

The Standard India will start with 175 former employees of Allstate India, who became full-time employees when The Standard acquired Allstate’s Employer Voluntary Benefits business effective April 1, 2025.
