IBCS Organises Women-Only Entrepreneurship Development Programme

  • The program was done in collaboration with the Weneurs Forum

Recently, the Institute of Business and Computer Studies, the faculty of management sciences at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University, organised an Entrepreneurship Development Programme exclusively for women.

The event, titled ‘Finance Fusion 2.0 – Empowering Women Through Finance’ was conducted in collaboration with the Weneurs Forum.

The inaugural session, presided over by Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, the Vice-Chancellor of SOA, was attended by Rajya Sabha member Sulata Deo as the chief guest.

Bushra Khan, Co-founder and CFO of GloPort PhotoniX, was the guest of honour and resource person. Jayanti Mahapatra, Co-founder and Director of the Weneurs Forum and Prof. (Dr.) the participants were welcomed by Ayasa Kanta Mohanty, Dean of IBCS.

Jayanti explained the objectives of the programme, while speakers emphasized that financial literacy was important for women entrepreneurs.

Organised by Dr. Ramakrushna Mishra and Dr. Pallavi Mishra, the programme saw the participation of more than 40 women entrepreneurs from different sectors of Odisha.

The training sessions dealt with budgeting, financial planning, cash flow and capital management, and financial control. Gautam Sahoo, Finance and Accounts Head of the FS and CW Department in Puri, co-facilitated the afternoon session.

The event was supported by sponsors including NTPC, IDBI Bank, Hindustan Jewellers, Pradeep Parivahan Ltd., and Swabalambi Odisha.

There were interactive discussions and active participation by the participants, which provided a relevant platform for solidifying financial awareness among women entrepreneurs.
