  • RCB still undefeated in Navi Mumbai; DC tally down to third loss in four ‍‌‍‍‌games.
  • Mandhana (96) and Voll (54*) guided RCB to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over DC.
  • Bell (3-26) and Satghare (3-27) dismantled DC's top order quickly; Shafali (62) was lone warrior.

The‍‌‍‍‌ Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their perfect run in the TATA Women's Premier League with a big eight-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals. They managed to chase a target of 167 with ten balls remaining and secure their fourth win in a row. The chase was mainly led by a fabulous Smriti Mandhana innings that almost earned her a first WPL century, and then RCB simply went home without losing a wicket to keep their untouched ‍‌‍‍‌record.

Mandhana‍‌‍‍‌ was a picture of class as she notched up a suave 96 from 61, balls, remaining the main player in the Capitals' bowling attack mainly through excellent timing rather than the sheer power of her shots. She was served well by Georgia Voll at the other end who remained unbeaten on 54, and the duo put together a beautiful 142-run partnership for the second wicket which eventually became the turning point of the match. Just four runs shy of the highly-coveted first century, Mandhana went down after a diving Lucy Hamilton stopped her shot at backward point, but Voll made sure there were no last-minute jitters when RCB comfortably wrapped up the ‍‌‍‍‌victory.

Earlier, new-ball bowlers of Royal Challengers Bengaluru took the lead in securing the win with a blazing opening over. Lauren Bell and Sayali Satghare had a great impact in the game as they tore down DC to 10 for 4 in less than two overs, Bell got Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt out back to back very quickly, while Satghare took Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp on consecutive balls. After the initial four wickets lost, Shafali Verma tried to rescue the team by hitting a fine 62 off 41 balls, she regularly found the boundary to keep DC in the ‍‌‍‍‌game.

Shafali‍‌‍‍‌ got the crucial help from first-timer Lucy Hamilton, whose quick 36 runs off 19 balls from No. 9 helped DC to a good total of 166 after they had been under the pump early on. But the total proved to be short against an RCB batting line-up that was in great shape.

Given this victory, RCB finished the Navi Mumbai leg with a clean 4-0 record, while Delhi Capitals lost their third match in four games, thus having a tough time going into the next phase of the ‍‌‍‍‌tournament
