  • Mumbai Indians cruised to a dominant 50-run win over Delhi Capitals
  • Harmanpreet Kaur starred with an unbeaten 74 off just 32 balls
  • Nat Sciver-Brunt anchored the innings with a classy 70

Defending champions Mumbai Indians delivered a statement performance in Match 3 of the TATA Women’s Premier League 2026, registering a commanding 50-run victory over Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium. A powerful batting effort, followed by a ruthless bowling display, underlined MI’s dominance as they secured their first win of the season in style.

Batting first, Mumbai endured an early setback with the loss of Amelia Kerr in the opening over, but Nat Sciver-Brunt quickly steadied the innings. The prolific all-rounder batted with composure and control, rebuilding alongside G Kamalini to guide MI safely through the powerplay. After Kamalini’s departure, captain Harmanpreet Kaur walked in and immediately shifted gears, stamping her authority on the innings.

The experienced duo of Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet took complete control, blending smart rotation with clean striking. Sciver-Brunt brought up a well-paced half-century before falling for 70, but the momentum remained firmly with Mumbai. With valuable support from Nicola Carey, she finished unbeaten on a scintillating 74 off just 32 balls, including a blistering final over that lifted MI to an imposing 195/4.

Delhi Capitals’ chase didn't take off against MI’s disciplined bowling. Nicola Carey’s incisive spell tore through the top order, leaving DC in deep trouble inside the powerplay. Amelia Kerr complemented her with key strikes, while sharp fielding further tightened the game.

Mumbai Indians eventually bowled Delhi Capitals out for 145, completing a comprehensive all-round victory that reaffirmed their title credentials early in the tournament.
