UP Warriorz have launched the upcoming season's playing jersey, which has been designed in collaboration with Ekaya Banaras, the first luxury handloom brand in India, keeping the traditional Banarasi weave alive.

The jersey has been designed to embody "identity, ambition, and cultural heritage while blending in smoothly with the larger plan of the franchise regarding women's sports," as shared by the UP Warriorz organization on social networking site, where they made the announcement official.

Ekaya has also come on board as the design partners of the team, and the output of the association is the “A Blooming Rebellion” jersey.

The combination of modern sportswear designs with classic craftsmanship has been done in the jersey by taking cues from the floral heritage of Banaras and the weaving skills of Ekaya.

The floral patterns that are of great importance in the culture of Banaras are incorporated into the performance sportswear.

For UP Warriorz, representing Uttar Pradesh continues to portray regional heritage while looking toward the future of women's cricket.

Everything on the jersey is meant to reflect not only the state's rich cultural background but also the emerging roles of women athletes to make them icons for women sportspersons in the making.

This synergy involves bringing together two organizations whose shared values are tradition and progress.

Ekaya, which has Banarasi heritage in excess of one century, symbolizes the modern mindset in the preservation of the tradition while being able to adjust to the current environment. This mindset fits the growth mindset in women’s sport.

“The partnership demonstrates the franchise's commitment to the fact that women sportswomen impact culture in ways that extend beyond the playing field, and they can also celebrate the rich heritage of the state of Uttar Pradesh through the design of the jersey,” Jinisha Sharma, Director, Capri Sports, explained.

“The association seemed natural in the sense that we were working on women’s stories and the chance to support a women’s cricket team that is carving out their own space in the game,” Palak Shah, the founder and CEO of Ekaya Banaras, revealed.
